lowtoy Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 hey I'm wanting to do a manual conversion in my ke55 and there's a manual conversion on here for a ke70, just wondering if it will fit?? thanks Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 The only comment I've seen has been about cutting the floor for the gearlever, or finding a short tailshaft for the KE70 box. I'm not sure if the 4speed drops straight in or those comments apply to 5spd and 4spd. Sorry, not much help, but someone should know for sure. Quote

philbey Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 All boxes are the same length, so your tailshaft should fit fine. The Gearshifter on the KE70 version of the gearbox is further back than the standard KE55 gearbox, so it will not be stock and I'd suggest you need to cut the hole in the right spot. You may also need some mods to your crossmember, I'm not sure if its the KE55 or the KE30 that needs the mod. You will find it quite hard to find the KE55 5 speed, they are much less common. Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 the KE70 pedal box would most likely NOT fit, the setup looks different. The KE70 5 speed will fit into the KE55, but i think you need to use your existing cross member and you will need to cut the shifter hole (at a guess) about an inch back. which means you would need to mod the center console or remove it. BReNt Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 So the ke55 cross member will be able to be used with out making any mods to it?? Quote
towe001 Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 You may also need some mods to your crossmember, I'm not sure if its the KE55 or the KE30 that needs the mod. ke55 - the '30 has both mounting points. So the ke55 cross member will be able to be used with out making any mods to it?? You can use the ke55 auto cross member but you'll have to weld the other one to it (ke55 manual x-member) Don't quote me but the hole in the auto version is longer Quote
