smeetsy1 Posted November 6, 2009 Author Report Posted November 6, 2009 re-registered. re-loved. Have bought petrol pump and installed (thanks chumps). Have bought a venetian. Have bought crown hubs. Have got cd player but doesn't understand electronics. Quote
nickyboy Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 yo man i'll give ya a hand with all your electrics. just gimme a buzz tomorrow! Quote
smeetsy1 Posted November 8, 2009 Author Report Posted November 8, 2009 cd player in with a centre console - thanks nick. tried to mount venetian when i got home yesterday but failed :) There is only one prong where it should slide in at the top (near roof lining) but where the strip that you need to unscrew and allow the prong to go into has a lip. So the prong can't be screwed back in. I kept banging my head in the car so i left it. Looks like there is supposed to be more prongs on either side but i don't understand this lip business. If you don't understand, i'll get pics. Quote
greenmac80 Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 pretty sure your supposed to jam those pins in the window seal? Quote
smeetsy1 Posted November 8, 2009 Author Report Posted November 8, 2009 I am under the impression you only do that at the bottom... frick it, i'll have a better look tomorrow. Quote
kE20ME Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 it just sits inbetween the window rubber and glass... if your rubber is hard, pry it gently with a flat head screw driver or somthing similar... it will be a tight fit, and may require some love to get it in there properly. :) Quote
smeetsy1 Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 Have recieved the long awaited crown hubcaps. They were pretty dirty when i got them so i've cleaned them up and they look alot better - pity about the dent which wasn't pointed out to me... internet buying is a bad experience. Nick is going to help me lower it next week - just springs and lowering blocks and then i'll put the hubs on and get 3/4 whitewalls on it. I'm interested to see how it looks with the enkeis when i lower it :y: Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 .....pity about the dent which wasn't pointed out to me... internet buying is a bad experience. Hey at least you got them in the end :y: . Don't think Toy-yoda has yet. Make sure you put feedback in the trader section. :y: Quote
smeetsy1 Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 Ryan - Heated up and popped out!? Recommend anyone? Taz - He wasn't that at the end - a bit elusive and had a lack of communication but i'm just glad i got them. Still, a little pissed that the photos he put up were of 1 good condition one... Oh well, shall look good :y: Quote
PMP020 Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 don't stress that hubby is easy fixed. no heat required, a medium soft hammer and a dolly, just tap it out until your happy with it. spend 5 mins make it look better or spend an hour make it look new. then repolish and your sorted. i rekon i saw this car turning onto springbank rd last week, that LHF gaurd colour gave it away. cheers, scott Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 If you have no luck beating the hubby, I'm pretty sure i have single at the oldies place, see how you go. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 Hey Will I am guessing you got your hubbys from KE11restorer... I had same issues with him, took over a month from payment to receiving them. I only got them sent when I threatened to take it to an Admin. Funny the post date on the box is the same date he received that PM from me. My hubbies were in reasonable condish though, a few dents but not as big as the one you have there. They were a bit pricey considering the dent you have in that one :y: Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 Those caps should look the goods on the 30, I like your thinking...... A bit of love with the fix-it tool and will be sweet :y: Quote
smeetsy1 Posted November 20, 2009 Author Report Posted November 20, 2009 I had the same problem Luke, he was a bit slack. And yes, i feel they were pricey (don't know how much you payed for yours) but i was completely unaware of that dent. I was only supplied with one image of a good condition one. It's really my first interstate buy through here other than a few springs and stuff and i'm learning ot be very certain and clear about the product. Changing my front left tyre then lower then whitewalls then venetian. Quote
