Starlet82 Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Hello There, Sorry if this is a little bit off topic but I'll ask anyway. I live in the philippines and already have a wife and a 3 year old kid. in the past year I've been planning to migrate to a better place than this S**Thole. One of the countries I'm looking into is Australia because of the manpower requirements in other regions, and of course my sister in law lives in Sidney. I've also heard that there are sponsorship programs there, basically the employer will contact immigration and immigration will fix all my papers for me and my family, that is if I fit in their manpower requirement. So if any of you know anybody...... Maybe I'm asking too much, just asking. Quote
MissSydneyCruising Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 well, it might help if you could provide some information as to what your skills are in, what youve worked in before. I know my work does sponsorship programs but not very often, and only for highly skilled applicants. But there are plenty of ways to go about it. You can move here on a 1 year holiday visa, which allows you to work for 3 months at a time in one job, to get some skills/experience/see if you like it. might help? Quote
Super Jamie Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 ALOT of tourists come to byron bay, it's the most easterly point of australia, about 9 hours drive north of sydney, and 90 minutes drive south of brisbane. as a result of its' mainly tourist-based population, i understand there is alot of cash-in-hand work to be had there, it may be a good place to come and try and see if you like it? that being said it would probably be difficult to establish a career there if you were looking to support a family but i'm sure there are alot of people who know far more than me about coming here from somewhere else :moon: i'm sure you're not even considering breaking any laws to get here, but be aware that our government doesn't take kindly to illegal immigrants. there are people in the middle of our inhospitable deserts who have been detained (illegally) for over 2 years, simply because they just arrived on a boat seeking asylum from their own country Quote
Starlet82 Posted May 19, 2005 Author Report Posted May 19, 2005 Hey! thats great! well....for starters, I've been working for a telecoms network for 4 years now, main job is to Setup, type approve, troubleshoot, mobile phones for our network (Technical Helpdesk). bachelor of sience in business administration, major in business management. I'm seeking permanent residency there. Don't worry, I want to get my Visa legally. :moon: Quote
Super Jamie Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 skills! :moon: move to brisbane, you'll get a full time job earning $600/week or more within a couple of months, eeeasy and if you're in south east queensland, you can hang out with the rest of us :) would you bring your cars over? all the import laws just changed here, but it's only difficult to bring over 1989+ cars now. i'm not entirely sure if you can import an old car that was already released here too (eg: ke30 corolla) Quote
Starlet82 Posted May 19, 2005 Author Report Posted May 19, 2005 I wish I could bring my cars there, I would have to sell everything to get cash for things that I would be needing there. Ask your employers, any job will do for me, as in ANYTHING. MissSydneyCruising, anything that would fit my profile? Quote
