trav_555 Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Cool cool. Hope it wasnt done dodgy :bash: Quad head lights, jdm bumpers and te71 taillights and she will be perfect! Cheers. Travis. Quote
Mish Posted June 6, 2009 Author Report Posted June 6, 2009 The rear door was shortened and welded in place as a permanent structure also providing support for the B pillars. Quote
love ke70 Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 mm, thats what i thought was done, thanks for that :bash: so how long are your doors? gotta suck they built it without side intrusion nice car anyway :y: Quote
love ke70 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 can you take a direct side on pic? I'm just trying to pick the difference between these pillars and a true 2 door pillar, looks like it should be sortable to fit a factory set of rear glass...maybe cheers, andy Quote
southslide Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) yeah the guy that made it is a rude f@$ker! heres the link for the rear lights http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE70...%3A1%7C294%3A50 scott. Edited June 8, 2009 by southslide Quote
dbr11k Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 trav you said exactley what i was thinkin ! this thing is clean as Quote
e70driftpig Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 ah yep, there the taillights i thought! same mob i bought my mirrors from Quote
Mish Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 My doors measure 1155mm on the body line... tad shorter than van doors... Heres a pic of the side on shot... I measured the rear glass also, along the base was 650 and 420 high on the front edge Quote
trav_555 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Is it just me or does the rear glass look too long on the part closest to the door? It should have more of a gap between the glass and the door in my opinion. Travis. Quote
Mish Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 The rear glass is just a piece of perspex cut to size... It has a piece of 20x20 aluminium angle screwed and sikaflexed hard up against the pillar so it is pretty much touching the B pillar. Quote
love ke70 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 these 2 pictures show what I'm looking at, with the C pillar, not sure how easy it will be to replicate. the 20x20 angle, sounds scary, dunno what the engineer or whoever will think of it trav, not sure what your getting at? the glass always comes up to the pillar with minimal gap, just like along the top, it always looks like its missing something, as the door is framed but then the window isnt, but thats a factory thing... thanks for the pic and measurement mish, much appreciated, glad this car went to an enthusiast, and not scraped like the douche selling it said he was gonna ;) Quote
Mish Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 Theres a lot of things i need to fix up on the car. One of the things that was done a bit dodgy was the door hinges for the rear doors were left on bolted to the B pillar. This means that you can still see that it was made out of a 4 door. There is also a nasty gap where the door rubber should go so I'm going to wend in some sheet metal so that its going to be a little harder to tell that it has been made out of a 4 door. It will also seal the cabin and get rid of the gap through the door where there is no rubber. Also have to weld in some seatbelt mounts at the bottom as the lower bolt hole no longer lines up with the original one, but the one in the pillar is still usable. Quote
Mish Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 Has anyone come across any photos of the inside of the door jam on the B pillar of a genuine 2door? I would be keen to get my hands on some photos so that when I modify mine I can do it to 'as original' looking as possible. Quote
love ke70 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 ive pmd a mate of mine in nz, waiting to see if he can get some pics back to me, but if anyone else has any... ;) sucks they didnt do anything to close it up properly, but i guess thats what you get when you buy a cheap convert, and it still looks mad from outside ;) are you gonna try drop the door a little, so the body lines match up? Quote
Mish Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 I was planning on makin a mould to make up some fibreglass doors for it. But the doors line up pretty good I thought... Are you talking about the crease about 100mm from the bottom of the door being out? Quote
