Timmeh Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 It's just a standard ADM AE86, bought it off ebay for $1500. It needed the left quarter panel welded back on and other bits and pieces to make it drivable. My dads mate went and picked it up for us cause he had a month of work and wanted something to do (win for us) Ended up getting it November last year and it was on the road late January this year. We had some trouble with the gearbox/engine but finally got it fixed. The 4-AC we had in it went through oil faster then petrol and blew a lot of smoke. Now it has got some black 14x6 Superlites on it and we got a replacement 4-AC and rebuilt the engine and replaced the head with a stronger one. It runs perfect now, has a nice sound too. Before my old 4-AC barely made it too 6,300rpm in first gear. I haven't really driven the car hard yet with the new engine but in first gear it did get up too 7,100rpm and was still going harder but I eased off. No idea if this is good or not for a 4-AC since I've only driven two 4-AC engines.. Was going to 4-AGE it but this engine is reliable so now we are planning out some modifications for the engine (Weber carb, extractors, new cams, etc) nothing too major though. Finally here is the picture progress since I've had it. Hope you enjoy my ride :rolla: Quote
adam-__- Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Not a bad buy for $1.5k mate! Looks good now that you've cleaned it up. Quote
Chobis Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 A perfect example of hard work paying off. That is sweeeeeeet !!! Quote
Timmeh Posted November 1, 2010 Author Report Posted November 1, 2010 Haven't updated this in a long time. I have pretty much finished with this car. Still all stock but now rolling on some SSR's. I now also have a red one which I am building up and putting a 4age in which should be sweet. Pics: Quote
JJT036 Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Looks nice mate! Now you just need some low and the 4A-GE and this'll be sweet! Josh  Quote
SLW42 Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 I like how when it was 1st re done it wasn't just sacked as low as possible, IMO maybe an inch lower, stiff springs, good shocks, plus a sway bar is all it'll need to handle alot better :) and you will love it even more Quote
Timmeh Posted November 2, 2010 Author Report Posted November 2, 2010 Haha I know but as I said I am not pumping anymore money into this car. It's all going to the red one so then I will have two beautiful 86's haha. Quote
SLW42 Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 it's a love thing if you love you car you spend money on it i.e stiffer springs = more love. :P Quote
Timmeh Posted December 22, 2010 Author Report Posted December 22, 2010 True...or I could put that money towards my red one and get that one on the road quicker. I am happy with leaving this one stock for now and I don't get hassled by the pol-pol either. Quote
Timmeh Posted December 22, 2010 Author Report Posted December 22, 2010 Also. Got bored. Took more photo's. Going to make a thread now with my red one. Quote
