as it says in the topic, i have a w58 gearbox out of my jza80 toyota supra and i am wanting to swap it for a w55. w55 must me in good condition, both boxes can be inspected at a reputable gearbox workshop, so that quality can be assured. anyone interested??

I've got a spare W55, might be interested in a swap. So are the rumours true that the late W58 bellhousing pattern doesn't match its predecessors?

w58 and 55 are the same bellhousing pattern.

Difference in shifter position and ratios

hmmmm... i am intrigued.

I have a W55, but would prefer a W58. Of course i would also prefer the mid-position selector housing like i currently have fitted to the W55.

Also, i am in sydney, so don't know if i can help you much :)

what do you plan on doing with the W55 to want it? i would have thought the W57 would have been preferential with nicer ratios and a close fifth, unless you have a very torqueless, revvy car?
