Red_rocket Posted May 12, 2009 Author Report Posted May 12, 2009 Hey, Is this KJ's old corolla? From the barossa? Looks good so far. Yeah this is KJ's Old rolla! the paint job was a bit shot so i thought id clean it up! Man u got ur self a great ke30 project there and good buy kinda jelous u got a 5k and 5spd in urs already my ke30 still got 4k n 4spd. i wana respray mine too but I'm scared at the cancer that lies benath the past owners back yard respray. whats been the hardest part about striping it back like find rust ect? Well i was amazed that this corolla didnt have a much rust as i thought! my other corolla how ever has a lot! But nothing like a bit of fiberglass and body filler wont fix! when rubbing it down its not too bad, just rub off a coat of paint and respray, however this ke30 i got the paint was cracked, and i had to strip the paint to bare metal in some places... My arms are feeling it at the moment from all the rubbing down, but should look killer once all painted and ready for cruzin! :D Quote
Red_rocket Posted May 12, 2009 Author Report Posted May 12, 2009 Quick update on the car, the font has been lowered.. The rust in the guard has been cut out along with the rust in the boot lid and a bit in the rear end. Quote
Red_rocket Posted May 16, 2009 Author Report Posted May 16, 2009 Well the weather has been crap so not much more work has been done! And being lazy too... :y: Well the rust in the guard has been cut and removed and replaced with some steel. The boot lid all the rust removed and ready for steel to be welded back in. Then the bonnet has been paint striped and holes needing to be welded back up! The plan is to get the car painted next week and weekend as thats probably the only good weather we will get... Quote
Red_rocket Posted May 23, 2009 Author Report Posted May 23, 2009 Well a little more work has been done! almost ready for painting one we get a few nice days of weather! :D The holes have been filled in the bonnet! and the rear guard has had the rust cut out and new steel put back in! Oh and i painted the rims.. will look better with the chrome trim and white wall tires. Here are some piccies! Quote
KJ's Rollas Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Nice job man! I am soo glad your making a good job of her and not just stripping the 5K and 5 speed which many wanted to do. I personally liked the XA Falcon bonnet clips lol! They gave it that 'racing/rally car' feel :-) Keep it up :-) KJ. Quote
