irokin Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Plus you'll meet loads of cool people You get to meet Datgirl. That in itself makes the whole event worthwhile :D I've never done Coastal Classic (it's always exam time, grr), but if it's anything like the other touring road events I'd say that the entry fees would be less than $100, and most of us will fit in the sub-2L pre-84 class. I'm most definately doing it this year, in the PhatDat (my unofficial name for Craig's Datsun1200) if Hal is not ready/running, in Hal otherwise... Safety requirements you and your nav will need a helmet, at least 2kg of fire extinguisher and a first aid kit. I think that's all you need... GAH! ive only got a 0.9kg fire extinguisher...what if I have more than one? Quote
Redwarf Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Two 0.9kg extinguishers are fine, thats what I have mounted in the Dwarf. Just make sure they're bolted in securely (we can do that on the help day... yeah I know.... date). Two decent condition seatbelts are good too, they don't have to be harnesses, just in reasonable nick. Hope this helps.. R Quote
demuire Posted February 8, 2004 Author Report Posted February 8, 2004 Seatbelts? Hmm, KE35 seatbelts are... well they're okay (not worn or scuffed or ripped or anything), just sunfaded. I think I've got 2 x 0.9kg fire extinguishers mounted in Pinky too (either that or an 0.9 and a 1). Quote
irokin Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 harr i have great condition seat belts. I replaced the original items with brand new retractables a few months back. Looks like I might be goin to buy me another fire extinguisher Quote
99 Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 The requirements will be all listed in the supplementary regulations, but they won't be available for a while yet - given that the event is some way off. However, it would not be a bad idea to give Brisbane Sporting Car Club a call (3846 0233) and ask if Sheridan could please send you a copy of the 2003 supp regs. But, as a rule, the supp regs will be similar to other road events and/or sprint events. I think it might be a little bit more than a $100 though. Not sure exactly, but maybe mid-$150s? Worth it though - get your nav to pay half!! datgirl Quote
