Felix Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 LOL, I found this just looking around and found it amusing. It is bizarre, but sort of well executed at the same time. More here Quote

harun Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 Apparently this is some newish trend in Europe Still better than black bonnets imo Cheers, Ben. Rust is a disease...how could that be better than a painted bonnet regardless of colour.. Quote
SLO-030 Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 Some have rusty cars with black bonnets. This guys just doing it backwards Quote
benzo Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 Rust is a disease...how could that be better than a painted bonnet regardless of colour.. black bonnets are also a disease, but it spreads from car to car instead of rust only spreading in the one car... I quote from another forum I was reading this morning "Its like comparing cancer and aids, I'd rather have neither" Cheers, Ben. Quote
7shades Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 There's an artist up here in Cairns by the name of Rod Ramage who has his entire car done with this effect. It actually looks kinda cool... Quote
philbey Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 (edited) RAT ROD RAT ROD! Overdone. It's cool to drag a 70 year old car out of a paddock and stick a motor in and drive it, body untouched, but the commodore is a joke. Edited May 25, 2009 by philbey Quote
luke.t. Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 yeah I'm a big fan of rat rods...... but like philby said it don't suit a commo..... Quote
dbr11k Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 i think its a granite sort of paint effect we learnt how to do it in tafe... could make some pretty cool effects and its a lot harder to paint than ya think Quote
twitchy Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Rust is a disease...how could that be better than a painted bonnet regardless of colour.. Dude, It is a painted bonnet.... :P Quote
sali Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Dude, It is a painted bonnet.... :P Whats the point in painting a bonnet in a rust effect when you can just stip the paint an leave it out in the rain. Quote
orangeLJ Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) you can simply buy a rust effect 2 part paint, paint on one lot (has minute little iran particles) then paint on the other part (chloring based from memory) and you have a rust effect. actually, I saw a bloke with a new trend yesterday on the F3. goldy coloured KE70 with white wheels and a white bonnet! first thought was it was a spare bonnet after the other was rusty or something, but then I thought well, it matched the wheels? forsale sign on the back window said worked 4age, tonnes of spares etc etc. wasnt a bad looking car apart from the bonnet.
