my55 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) Found a website with some cool hubcaps, want to fit some on my ke55, just having difficulties choosing which ones..Any opinions would be great!! Edited April 23, 2009 by my55 Quote
towe001 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Sorry dude but to me they all look american, i don't really think any of them would suit the shape of the car all that well. To me the caps give me the feeling of a car thats a square blocky type of shape where as the '55 has more of a smooth, roundish type of shape. The styling of each clashes. But thats just me I'd be more inclined to stay with the dress rings. But thats just me... Quote
KEI069 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 ^^^^^^^^^^^ Same as above maybe try a full moon disc or something and maybe a red wall tyre could look cool maybe. Quote
philthy30 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 yea i fully agree with the above standard hubcaps and whitewalls always look a treat Quote
muzke30 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 or sus out some mesh rims or nice jdm rims out there even watanabe rims look real sporty drift look just depends on cash. i agree with above if straped for cash put some dress rings around the rims like the commodore guys do on there interceptors Quote

SLW42 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Some chaser style wheels with a chrome dress ring. are we now hooked on chaser style wheels sir? Quote
DouggehKE30 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 They look better then the stock KE30 hubbies. And personally they are not that bad, i would be happy with them....not the first pair though. Try looking on this site, they pop up every now and then, and also Datsun and other oldschool clubs to find some genuine Jap style looking hubbies. Quote

vagen Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 I like it the way it is. I say this but the choice is yours if you like one then go for it that is what makes this hobby fun Variety..... Quote
eiriksmil Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Yeah, stock steelies are awesome! :hmm: Quote
Felix Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 My opinion.... Don't bother. You would be better off putting the money towards some 14x5.5" tarago/celica (ra40/60) steel rims. Then you can fit some decent performance tyres in 185/60. By all means paint the rims and put on some trim rings. In the end you will have an "improved" stock looking car. The wider, stickier, less flexy tyres will enable you to gain more benefit from future suspension mods. Later on add something like a set of kings low springs to the front, heavy duty shocks all round, poly bushes on the swaybar. These simple subtle mods will totally transform the handling of your car, enabling it to corner twice as hard, and set up the chassis to easily take more power later from an engine conversion. Personally putting whitewalls on anything after a ke2x looks stupid in 90% of cases. Not many pull it off well, most fail. Quote
drc_ke20 Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 there a guy who sell`s hubcaps along King Georges road Roselands, you might find some old skool hubby`s there? Quote
Lexxi[ke35] Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 I reckon, paint the stockies gloss black and keep the chrome dress rings and find some shiny chrome centre caps like on mine :) Quote
SLO-030 Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 Stockies = good for skids only. f@$k all traction compared to some decent 185 - 195's. I've been running the 14x5.5 celica/torago wheels between using my dragways and the new chasers. Come up nicely with a clean up with 1200 and 2000grit wet and dry. Pics of them are in my thread. click the picture in my signature to go straight there Quote
