Sturgey Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) ok guys a few of us were chatting at bridport the other day and decided we need to have a tasrollaclub fishing trip we were thinking cruise somewhere fish, camp the night, fish some more then head back so lets branstorm some places with decent camping spots etc (si can edit this if any extra info can be added) for dates we can either have it in winter or in spring :\ Spots so far: Swimcart Beach (binnalong bay): very good beach for fishing, has a drop straight off the beach and is insanely deep within a few metres off shore, has good camping areas etc will need a surf road though if you want to fish here :hmm:. also note if u can't fit a surf rod in ur car it can go in the panelvan ;) cheers sturgey Edited April 22, 2009 by Sturgey Quote
Taz_Rx Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) ;) You guys really don't know how much I like my fishing!!! I was thinking about bringing a rod down to Bridport for a half hour flick but didn't want to be anti-social! ;) I could suggest a lot more spots around the state, but I think you're pretty well spot on the money there mate! :hmm: In terms of a time frame frankly I think Spring may be better for a couple of main reason: 1, It'll just be too damn cold for camping/night fishing (we can't NOT try and catch sharks!!!) during winter 2, We can set a date (maybe even on a long weekend) waaaay in advance. This way everybody knows when it is and has ample time to arrange there self with time off work, other commitments etc. 3, I'm not holding my breath but Mud might be finished by then!! Oh, and anybody who keen on surfing don't forget to bring a board as there is some pretty good waves out there too! .....or you can paddle out some shark baits! :P We could also make a bit of a cruise of the trip too. Say head out via Sidling/Scottsdale/NE to St Helens (will have to calm down on the sidling with cars loaded with camping gear though) and then return through St Mary's/Conara. So what I want to see from everybody now is: 1, Suggestions of other spots we could go - Binnalong is in no way set in stone! 2, Suggestions on possible dates during Spring. Personally later Spring would probably be a bit better for me. For anybody who doesn't know yet Katie and I have our first rug-rat dues in mid August (if anybody's been wondering what my avatar is) so I better not take off fishing and camping too soon after that. Cheers, Si. Edited April 22, 2009 by Taz_Rx Quote
