chrisandliz[RL] Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 my AE82 drops about .5 L a week. It smokes every time I stop at the lights (oil on the exhaust manifold). I need to replace the dizzy oil seal (and every other oil seal). any one else have a oil problem? Quote
Murd 55 Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 i go through a few litres every couple of weeks. don't blow any white smoke but it disappears somewhere, well did blow a little smoke till i put stop smoke in and havent needed to put any oil in for a couple weeks. my rings are worn so was f@$king shit up :hmm: Quote
SoulSearcher Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 oh! I win! just before I did the engine replacement, I went through all my oil in 5 days :hmm: Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 I went through just about all the oil in my AE82 in about 15 seconds..... Forgot to check if the old oil-filter gasket had stuck to the block (it had) during an oil change, so upon startup it just blew out between the new and old seal and dumped its guts on the driveway But I don't think that is what this thread is about :hmm: Quote
suprnova Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 my old corolla was going though all its oil every month and a half.... Quote
chrisandliz[RL] Posted April 23, 2009 Author Report Posted April 23, 2009 my old corolla was going though all its oil every month and a half.... And that is the motor I bought??? good thing i replaced all the oil seals then. Quote
the20valveman Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 my car needs topping up every week. i got a 20v halfcut and got the rear main seal done and another seal. thank god. the rocker/tappet cover gasket is seeping and there is a plate that the oil filter goes on, with 3 nuts. that thing leaks onto the exhaust and when i service it/ top it up it gets smelly at a stop. maybe running it on mobil synthetic isnt helping, but if its gonna leak its gonna leak.
