Damn Troy you have alot of similar ideas to me as to jap wheels and now steelies lol

I'm considering going widened 13" Mazda 1300/808 steelies until I can find some suitable watanabes.

and they would be able to do any width and offset you wanted which is a plus.

Where is this place?

Cheers, Ben.

Have you seen the current range of Simmons? They SUCK for retro cars, start at 16" and up. Not to mention have a 3k price tag is a little steep. Nothing against Simmons i had a set of B45's on my RA28 and they were of the highest quality.

Only simmons i would consider would be maybe some old school V4 mesh style?

I'm thinking of widing some 13" mazda wheels too as apposed to my 14's, i prefer the 13 when going real wide and that will give me a chance to sell my 14's as are with tyres and sets of whitewalls.

Benzo theres a few places around adelaide that widen steel wheels, Adelaide Wheel and Rim works is one on south road and ill get back to you on others around adelaide.

widened steelies under stock (lipped) guards. win.

should be able to get some stretch under those guards.

(factory ke20 guards can take 9" slicks untubbed. that's a reason they're popular for drag racers. ;) )

therefore, theoretically you should be able to fit 10" of rim with 8" of tyre no probs under your stock guards. :hmm:

do it.

a 10" under a stock guard!? Maybe at 4WD height haha.

Ill have a good look under the guards sometime but i just can't see it, i figured i could get a 7 or 8 under there with some stretch but not something that huge? offset would have to be around 10+?

I'm still liking my flares just to be different, and to prove they can look hot.

OK, you got me, i should have said the tread of the tyre will be under the guard, with about 2" rim sticking out :hmm:

i know sorry for highjacking, do you know of any places that can get replacements for 3 piece rims, want to get new front pieces, probably don't, but yeah.

i recon your ke20 is so damn clean, widened steelies look mad when done well, and don't go for mass stretch it just looks bad! i still think it would look better if u pulled the guards out instead of using flares, but I'm not a mass fan of flares, but definately think if there were ever a car to sway me would have to be this one!

What brand are your wheels? So your after some new outer sections? (the lip) some wheel places have spare parts for 3 piece wheels, give adelaide wheel and rim works a call and they can steer you in the right direction but if you know the brand of the wheels i might know?

I wasn't sure on the flares either but i want to be different :hmm:

Ohh and i wont be running massive stretch, just a moderate amount like maybe 185's on a 8" rim?
