So what are the other differences between 1st and 2nd gen silvertops??

I ask this as I am currently installing a 2nd gen and just curious?? :P

So it's got the single throttle linkage as opposed to the two? From what I've heard the second-gen intake manifold is a bit better, and the mid-range is better as well, but that could be in ECU tune more than anything else (same reason with the difference between AE102 and AE112 7AFEs)

Didn't think there were two blacktop generations (assuming you are referring to the 20v).

Nope, the original 4age. Basically it was just a 4a-c with a twin cam head

From the Billzilla site

- Very early big port TVIS 16 valve, with black lettering & 6-bolts holding the flywheel on.

There's also talk about it on www.club4ag.com but might have to do a bit of digging cause it was a good while back

I've seen that before, I'm very doubtful about it actually existing (there _are_ some mistakes on Bill's site too), never seen it mentioned in official Toyota documentation either so I'd be guessing prototype or something similar (or someone simply got their facts wrong initially and the mistake has just propagated, like how a lot of places list the Starlet Turbo engine as a 2T-TELU instead of a 2E-TELU, but then go on to claim that it's an orphan that has nothing common with the rest of the T-series engines......idiots)
