Seeing it tonight lol.

So far have watched the first three (only no. 2 in the Cinemas) and haven't enjoyed them that much.

Some of the "amazing" driving stunts that they do are disappointing because they are almost all CGI

and just don't have that WOW factor.

I have to say I liked the car race between Sean and the Jock at the start of Tokyo Drift. IT WAS REAL! (most)

Saw it last night and i reckoned it was great. Driving thru the tunnels is definatly CG but i loved ti for the old muscle cars :)

Copied from the FnF thread on Toymods

I'm pissed off they didn't show more of the RS200......AE86s are a dime a dozen these days, I want to see something different, and a Group B tarmac rally car would have fit the bill perfectly (even if it was a Homologation model)

As for the movie itself, I was surprisingly impressed. Sure, it wasn't Shawshank Redemption on wheels, or Usual Suspects with an engine, but it was entertaining with a minimum of cringes or groans. The distinct lack of wog-boxes/rice-carts was a welcome touch; I'd been wanting a more old-skool/muscle touch ever since the token Charger and Yenko Camaro appearances in the first two movies (the less said about the RB26 abomination of a Mustang in TFnFTD the better), and I must say that is the first time I've seen a '72 Torino look good (and it looked damn good).

The number of cringe-worthy one liners was significantly down on the first 3 movies, and for the most part there was a welcome lack of overt "tech-talk" (which was often wrong anyway) - things were more subtle because there was no need for the characters to "boast" about their cars or try to sound cool for the hoon crowd. Vin Diesel's acting was more woodern than a pine forest (but that's to be expected, and Toretto's a reserved character), but the FBI-chick looked like she was still playing the mole character from NCIS, just without the behind-the-scene backstabbing.

Of course there were glaring pot holes or goofs, but that was to be expected. Overall, I gave it rating of half a large popcorn - enough to keep you interested, but if you delved too deep you'd hit the crap stuff. Ignore that, and it was all good.
