That is one of the problem for me.

I cannot get AE86 stuff here. If it is only the steering arms to change, i might buy some but only if it is the only thing to change.

aussierider It is true that a complete coilover is better, for the arguments you gave, but i do not want to change everything fot the moment as i still hope to find a complete AE86 to swap

SO the AE86 can weld on my stock shocks of my earlier KE goooodddd :jamie:

Thanks a lot

sorry about the leech on the tread.

i installed rear coilover on my ke70

I'm runing on them for a couple of month now. didnt seem to have a problem untill now, and I'm driving every day with it on kinda bumpy roads.

now lets say your all right, the top mount isnt a problem to reinforce, but does anyone know how to reinforce the bottom mount.

P.S- front coilover bolt staight on the ke70, with no need of changing the steering arms!

i install mine without any modification at all!

I'm using the D2 by the way

actually ill tell you the truth, its a daihatsu charmant, i live in israel and they are labeled as charmant here, its the same car , with the 4k engine and everything, the only difference is the body work, any way mine is a 86, I'm not sure if theres a diffence between the years, if there is, you can upload a picture of you front steering are and everything and ill tell you if theres a difference.

somebody have an idea about the reinforcment?

in fact, by logic, i think they are the same as the crossmembers are the same, and seat dimensions inside the same.

But it really look bigger when i put them aside together

early and late KE-70 have different steering arm bolt spacing, early 87mm and late 85mm? if i remember correctly, late is same as ae86, can run ae86 p/s arms fro quicker steering and more lock, overrated for a streeter but not the best for a drifter or anything, if thats ya plan?

How about the rear set-up, the late KEs definitively can use coilovers in the back (opposed to separate springs and struts)? Most coilover kits for the AE86 seem to work like that.

To Have fun, drift sometimes for myself, but mostly for Touge.

I got rid of one of my car today, so i can now reach the back of my garage and check all the difference between the parts. I keep in touch

eiriksmil you CAN use one piece coilovers, but you have to reinforce the strut tower ;-)

well if you were serious then you'd make new turrets in the rear and a new mount on the diff, a bar to link the turrets and there you have rear coil overs, thats what id do
