coln72 Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Had my roady hooked up to a "ignition on" source but my racer was wired through a switch. Great for getting fuel into the carbies after sitting for a while. For CAMS events, it is a requirement for the pump to be hooked up via the oil pressure switch, but no one ever checks..... Quote
sidewaysvc Posted April 17, 2009 Author Report Posted April 17, 2009 so basically i can hook it up anyway i want and do i need a regulator or not everyone keeps saying i do and don't so what is it? Quote
Redwarf Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 if you're running standard carbs, I wouldn't worry about it. Quote
coln72 Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) ^^^^^^ What I have been saying! In fact with the factory twins, the extra pressure helped the performance. Edited April 17, 2009 by coln72 Quote
LukeAE71 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Well I had the privilege (I won't say pleasure) of hearing a Facet Pump starting up and pumping the other night and my god they are loud. This particular one was mounted under the back of the car on an AE86 Sprinter and you could really hear it. I hope mine will be ok mounted in the boot of my 71 as I do not want to fork out the $200 or so for a Carter Lift Pump. Quote
KEI069 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 To try and eliminate some of the noise use a rubber mounting. I found the little rubber blocks used on vl commodore airbox mounts to the body to work quite ok. Quote
coln72 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Yes use those rubber mounts for sure and make sure its mounted under your car not inside of the boot. Quote
