Mr Hardware Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 (edited) Hey All Its been bugging me for a little while now, but you know the little symbol on alot of corolla oil filler caps Banjo has it as his avatar What is it? What does it stand for? Why is it on lots of toyotas? Cheers Edited May 4, 2005 by Mr Hardware Quote
ancullen Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 It's Toyota in Japanese. And if you ever get any Toyota touch-up paint (I think every new car gets a little can, but don't quote me), it's got the same logo (surprisingly). Quote
Mr Hardware Posted May 4, 2005 Author Report Posted May 4, 2005 oh. ok. weird. i always thought it stood for something. toyota in japanese eh. Quote
ancullen Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 Yep. And did you know that back in the day, Toyota used to be Toyoda. However they changed it because it sounded better and the Japanese writing of Toyota (the image you showed) looks better than that of Toyoda (supposedly). Quote
wyldephyre Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 No no, you are all wrong. It's the number 710 In Japanese. Quote

No need. It definitely means Toyota. If you want to check, I'm pretty sure it was the current issue of Wheels that has it in there. I think it's got an Adventra and a Territory on the cover. Quote
Nitephyre Posted May 5, 2005 Report Posted May 5, 2005 Yep. It's Toyota, when written it looked nicer than Toyoda :) Quote
