silverra23 Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 No didn't come up on ads... found it though "connections" :hammer: Quote
LukeAE71 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Nice find, will be good to see it once you have cleaned the good inch deep layer of dust from it. I reckon it will come up quite nice underneath all that :hammer: Quote
parrot Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 As you will have gathered from my Toymods posts, I am insanely jealous. This is one of those pickups that you dream about, but they never happen. Look forward to seeing it in time. Quote
silverra23 Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 Update - this thing is amazing! New battery, a little bit of "Start Ya Bastard" down the carby throats and she fired up. Idles perfectly and in a quick run around the block seems to purr like a kitten. No coughs or hiccups! Brakes are dodgy, but that could be just me forgetting about lack of vacuum assistance. Home tomorrow on a tow truck, and then we can get into the clean up :hammer: Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 When I got my 15 my master brake cyclinder had gunked up and I got it recoed for $140 all new EVERYTHING on it really. Also K-B motors from factory have a larger cam in them they do get up and boggie nicely for a K motor..lol Cameron Quote
ScottKE1X Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 This is one of those dream finds! Do a full detail on it and leave it as it is!! can't wait to see pics of it cleaned up... Looks museum worthy. Scott. Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Just was looking and noticed your seats don't have head rests. But do they have holes for them to be installed sticking out the top? Cameron Quote
silverra23 Posted April 16, 2009 Author Report Posted April 16, 2009 Yes they do have holes in them for the head rests, with little plugs in the holes. Quote
silverra23 Posted April 17, 2009 Author Report Posted April 17, 2009 OK K engine gurus.. rollaclub diagnostic services required. As tow truck drivers were dicking me about, I took the challenge and decided to drive this little beast back to work where it will be living for a little while. Started and purred away and let it idle to warm up while I organised a vicroads temp rego. Drove away no real dramas though I think the rear brakes are seized-ish. However after only a kay or so the oil smoke cloud behind me was pretty nasty, and power dropped right off. So i decided I didn't want to toast it, pulled over, called another towie and came back on the back of a flat bed. When it got back here, it started up fine, no real smoke cloud, and no horrible noises from the engine - in fact the boys here commented on how quiet it is. So any ideas what would cause a drop off in power and lots of blue smoke when the engine is warm and under load?? Quote
