hotdoghogie Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 so it rained... went out and did a good donut on the way home... yaya sweet fun... i get looking... my offset is off... no actually my rear end has shifted over a bit!... is this bad? do i need to invest in some panhard/lateral bars? Quote
love ke70 Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 is it lowered? the rear geometry creates a triangle, when u lower it, the panhard, which forms the long side of the triangle pushes the diff further across because there is less angle, it should only be a few mm on the rolla though... 7shades Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 There are a few variables: What did you hit What part of the car did you hit it with How hard did you hit it Answer me these questions three... and I shall divulge the knowledge for which you seek Quote
hotdoghogie Posted April 13, 2009 Author Report Posted April 13, 2009 yeah i just slammed it... hmmm... any way of correcting it? uhhh... i didnt hit anything its just that way Quote
corolla_bitten Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 what type of rear suspension have you got leaf or coil. sometimes if the brackets holding the diff to the leafs can stretch and diff can move sideways, ive had this problem in my pano. Quote
OniBerserker Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 hey man, nice ke30 and yes its ajustable panhard rod time Quote
love ke70 Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 if its a ke30 sisnt it leaf sprung and doesnt that mean it doesnt have a panhard? or am i mis-informed? Quote
OniBerserker Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 damn, your right they have anti-roll bars or lateral bars in them don't they Quote
love ke70 Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 so how did u know it was a ke30 anyway? i just assumed it was coil sprung coz all my cars are, but when u said 30 i realised it probably was leaf sprung and i shouldnt be spouting advice as I'm no help at all Quote
OniBerserker Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 (edited) search his name in rides section ftw Edited April 13, 2009 by OniBerserker Quote
Xany Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 (edited) Ke30 will have leaf springs, meaning if the diff has shifted....something is bent. anti roll bars aka Sway bars, don't have much to do with the positioning of the diff in a KE30, its all mainly in the leaf springs. Because of this you can lower a KE30/55 without having to worry about things going where they shouldnt be. lol Edited April 13, 2009 by Xany Quote
BReNt Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Does it have lowering blocks?? If it does that could be your problem. Quote
OniBerserker Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 (edited) looking at the first pic in his rides thread it looks like it was raised in the rear http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=29443 i bow to Xany's wisdom :D Edited April 13, 2009 by OniBerserker Quote
KEI069 Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I'd be looking at your leaf spring shackles, not real hard to bend these. Quote
hotdoghogie Posted April 13, 2009 Author Report Posted April 13, 2009 haha... man i think i will go take a look at it... its got an rx7 turbo rear end... i will look... i just threw the blocks in didnt take much time checking if it was super straight. but yes it is leaf sprung. It might be a good time to beef up the shackles while I'm at it. Thanks guys. btw i will get some updated picks of the car for ya guys. Quote
