kur|y Posted May 3, 2005 Author Report Posted May 3, 2005 Thank you 4 that grimwolge looks like i had no idea about prices goin into a rally car.. i will keep my eyes open for a second hand rally car as it will save alot of time and money.. i spose I'm just bored on some weekends and want to work on a car >< Quote
ancullen Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Or you could buy a FWD Galant for about $5,000, spend another $3,000 on a VR4 halfcut, and don't worry about suspension (it's overrated :)) and you could have a very quick car. Now where can you find a FWD Galant for sale? Oh, hang on, I just happen to have one. What a coincidence!!! Quote
kur|y Posted May 3, 2005 Author Report Posted May 3, 2005 Hmmm a fwd galant with a vr-4 conversion = rally car ??? i think not. when i said 10,000 i meant like over time and i shall do my homework be4 posting next time so i don't look like a fool >< Quote
ancullen Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 FWD + 200Hp = Why not? It'd be different to say the least. Of course, you'd spend the other $2,000 on CV joints, driveshafts and clutches. Quote
kur|y Posted May 3, 2005 Author Report Posted May 3, 2005 Or u could go out and get a vl turbo and have 200 hp and save alot of times and hassel + have enough money left over to buy a couple of ke70's :) Quote
ancullen Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Good luck finding a VL Turbo that's cheap and in good nick. :) Oh shit, I just helped bring down the class of rollaclub by mentioning a Holden in a forum. Please forgive me moderators. Quote
demuire Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 On a budget, buy pre-built. Building a car equates to a lot of money (that you don't get back when you sell the car) Quote

demuire Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 It's Dino... :) Used to belong to Mel. Someone please buy this car, it is the coolest Datto in the world... Quote
Super Jamie Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 i beg to differ, you could have heaps of fun with a 10 grand. get a shell, strip it, put some custom springs (lowered about an inch) and decent dampers, weld the diff and stick a cam, carb and exhaust on the original motor and you'd have a top little rally thrasher if you want to keep it street registered, then you're going to need an lsd and engineer any modifications to seating capacity, etc. but it's definately do-able you're not going to have a full CAMS-approved cage or win any titles, but you could definately just have a fun thrash car Quote
demuire Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 Yes, but you'd get so much more if you bought a pre-built car for the same money... Quote
