benzo Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Yeah I'd be looking at AE86 struts and brakes, even adm brakes would be better than ae71 gear but may as well go for jdm. No need for T3 set-up with a near stock 20V Can't wait to go for a strap in this, damn tuning Cheers, Ben.
LukeAE71 Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 Can't wait to go for a strap in this, damn tuning Cheers, Ben. You and me both!! Was really looking forward to it today being a long weekend and all. If it takes much longer I feel it would just be easier to set it on fire :bash:
trav_555 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I reckon, but hey at least you have fouind a tuner :bash: Who knows where I'm going to have to go for a tune ahahahahhaaha........ Adm brakes would sufice too, but JDM brakes would be worth the extra anyway I think. can't hurt really. Travis.

trav_555 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Hey Luke you should get one of these: Rice spec but looks better than standard silvertop stuff ;) Hahah, I think you should paint them a matte black or satin black, I think that would look cool ;) Travis.
LukeAE71 Posted June 16, 2009 Author Report Posted June 16, 2009 Update: Still have not received the car back from the tuner. It is supposed to happen later this week but I’m not holding much hope as it has been there nearly 3 weeks now. I would chase it up more but it is hard working full time and over the other side of town from where the car is. I have been busy at our local U Pull It Self Serve Wreckers lately. I pulled a full manual conversion kit out of an AE71 including Pedal Box, Master Cylinder, Gearbox and Tailshaft and Crossmembers (still can’t believe it was just sitting there and noone had taken it),. I have demolished it of all the manual parts well and truly. I plan to keep these parts for another project as they are getting hard to come by and I had to pay a huge price to get them when I converted this car. I thought $10 for the pedal box from U Pull It was a bit rough 8/  I also ripped two wind deflectors for my front driver and passenger door from the car which cost me next to nothing and are the ultimate nana mod. Hopefully I get the car back this week and can put up some more pics and a video for you all. It has been a long wait, and it might finally be over :y: Pics will be up another day of the wind deflectors on the car... haven't seen the car in a while :sob:
trav_555 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Stoked as man, thats the way 8/ can't wait. Travis.
Budowski Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Are they having trouble with the tuning? can't wait to see this beasty, i bet its been a long wait. Now that my new shed is up ill be able to start collecting more parts too, you really got a bargain with those parts.

No problem, they have just been slack and because I haven't had time to chase them up they have let my car sit there not being worked on 8/
LukeAE71 Posted June 17, 2009 Author Report Posted June 17, 2009 BUMP this shit right to the top..... It made 91 rwkw's on the dyno Not bad for a stock second hand ST I pick it up tomorrow night 8/
dbr11k Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 hey top shit !! feels good when everything just works lol thats a pretty good power figure. As far as engineering goes, i dare say you will have to get the surge tank and fuel pump engineered, which is pretty much them saying "yeah its right" And i have a feeling that you wont pass with trumpets, you will probably have to pass it with a standar air box or one similar to the original 20v. Also a big call but I'm pretty sure that aftermaket ecu's are actually illegal all together.

It made 91 rwkw's on the dyno Not bad for a stock second hand ST I pick it up tomorrow night 8/ awesome dude, as far as waiting goes must be the favourite thing to do these days I'm building a shed and i tell you contractors suck not all but all the ones ive dealt with so far.
SLO-030 Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 Yep, going by what ive been told. An adjustable ECU is illegal which rules out Aftermarkets.
trav_555 Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 You can lock them, and I'm fairly sure you lock a LT10s too. Just buy a fibreglass airbox off a sponser on ae86dc. And surge tank and fuel pump should be under the car or in engine bay. Might get away with it if you build a cover for it. MIGHT. Anyway heaps stoked for you man I'm coming down to Adelaide around christmas time so I definately want to see this beast, 91kw is a great number!! gotta be stoked with that 8/ Travis.
MYSTIK[RL] Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 It made 91 rwkw's on the dyno not bad, but only 5 or 6kw more, than the last ST i saw dynoed 8/
