Prewer Posted April 16, 2009 Author Report Posted April 16, 2009 Well, the daily has had its first bingle, not by me but by my brother... cut infront of a Liberty or some crap.. thank god for 3rd party insurance i guess. Did a lil bit of damage to the other car, front bar, guard, headlight. nothing a new door and a bit of tapping and some bog wont fix lol. Quote
SLW42 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 you could just about kick that back out in the door aye and it shouldnt leave much of a mark aye cause i had that happen to me on my celica somebody kicked my doors in and they popped back out :jamie: Quote
flat out Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 all you need to convert to hydro clutch is a bolt, nylon nut, mig welder, drill, holesaw and a peice of flat bar about 4cm long, then it will be as good as the ae71 one Quote
Prewer Posted April 21, 2009 Author Report Posted April 21, 2009 Well, had a spare few hours over the weekend so got it to this stage, not going to hand flare the guards at this stage, just go back to the stock shape, i don't have the wheels that permit flared guards (yet) so this is how it shall be started up, clean shed = check removing all black strips :P And first coat of filler Quote
SLW42 Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 isnt that abit of overkill with taking the paint back if it were me i would have only don't the corner it was hit the maybe an inch or two out from there how'd you go with the door? Quote
Prewer Posted April 21, 2009 Author Report Posted April 21, 2009 isnt that abit of overkill with taking the paint back if it were me i would have only don't the corner it was hit the maybe an inch or two out from there how'd you go with the door? the paint on the guard isnt much chop, looks like lots of stonechips through it, so going back to bare metal is the best option, doing it properly, do it once :P As for the door, I'm getting another car and taking all doors of that as mine have rust in all corners of them, so no point in fixing this one up, its a bit beyond repair Am going to do the whole car now, not the whole car back to bare metal, just the bad bits, but am stuck on a colour choice, was thinking the ford focus pearlescent orange, or a metallic black, really not sure.. opinions.. So much for this being a daily, it seems to be spending more time in the shed than on the road, hahaha, the bug has bitten Quote
SLW42 Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 yeah i bought my ae71 december last year and it still hasnt seen the road due to me constantly changing my mind lol it is just sitting there gathering dust :P Quote
Prewer Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 Rear quarter all in primer now Just purchased 4 new doors in overrated condition, cheers dan  Nissan 720 rear shocks fitted also, worked out to fit in best the highest compression rate and lowest compression rate of the shock in my opinion, really nice and firm in the ass end now, not floaty at all :hmm: CA18det is on the cards too, watch this space in July  Quote
Prewer Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 (edited) Picked up another corolla today, AE71, had been rolled, was a goer so drove it home... just, had no front windscreen and theres a slight amount of camber on the passenger front wheel... This suckers a manual, so ill rip the manual setup out of this and drop into the white one for now, till i save up the dosh for the CA18 or SR project, then this box will be up for grabs. If anyone needs any other parts off the 71 feel free to ask, ive got dibs on all manual transmission stuff and radiator and seats, but anyone else can pawn the rest :D Also got some XT130 struts and LCA's I'm biulding up at the moment, new shocks, rotors, bearings king low springs etc... XT130 struts, LCA's and brakes etc... Edited May 13, 2009 by Prewer Quote
Prewer Posted June 28, 2009 Author Report Posted June 28, 2009 Weel, bit has changed. Manual is now in, pedalboxes are a bitch aye.. 2 inch exhaust all the way from the manifold with hotdog and some ricey twin tip rear mufler also been fitted, breathes so much better now. Next project is converting XT130 struts to coilovers and rebushing LCA's, then fit them buggers in, callipers have been resleeved and new wheelbearings and rotors machined Quote
Prewer Posted July 4, 2009 Author Report Posted July 4, 2009 New interior out of another AE71, csx model, after a 2 hour clean and a week to dry, came up a bloody treat, no headrest, didnt come with any, not sure if i like that look or not, guess time will tell Got some rubber on the rear mags yesterday, looks a bit more of a clean streeter, don't be dismay, loog through the grey primer and you shall see potentional. 24mm Swaybar, you ripper Quote
smeetsy1 Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Headrests are nice when you crash... prevents loosing your head when it snaps off. GET SOME :sob: Quote
Instigator Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 If you still have the blue one I'm chasing a set of bars & brackets. From that plate I'm guessing you're in Tassie though? Probably not worth the postage... :sob: Quote
Prewer Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Posted July 6, 2009 Nah, that car is long gone. Yeah, in Tas, postage would be a fkn killer Quote
