depends how much you really care about the lasting quality. me and my mates prepped and painted our whole bus for about $200, only lightly sanded and using rollers. it looked awesome as a whole, wasnt like a showcar up close but still had a gloss and did the job..

i did my rx7 with a fair bit more prep, and sprayed enamel (regrettably) with a pretty cheap gun and compressor. But it probably didnt cost much more all up than the bus did. Looks more pro up close though.

The best bit about putting crappy enamel on your car is that no other kind of paint will stick to it.

So if one day you want to do a proper paint job, with acylic or 2 pack,

you have to first remove the crappy enamel that you put on it, which is an absolute mission.

...because it sticks to whatever is underneath it so well.

"Also if you decide to paint the car professionally later, just prep and paint, there's no need to strip the Tremclad." says 69chargeryeehaa on moparts forum.

"it is a acrylic/enamel paint which is very durable"

Is there an equivalent to this paint in Aus?

google "rustoleum" :y: I used Brightside Interlux which is a marine enamel, also consider using the paint they use for heavy industrial purposes - limited colour range but extremely hard wearing finish.
