rollas22 Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 hey guys, Have a F#*KD KE20 brake master cylinder... an having big dramas finding a replacement. is there any universal products that will fit from other brands of cars??? bore size stampt on side is 11/16" let me know if you know of any that you have use'd previously. thanks for the help Quote
Redwarf Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 You can go dual circuit which will require a couple of new pipes. ie: RWD Mazda 323, Early Meteor, GA-GD Gallant (sizes vary). Alternately there'll be someone local who could re-sleeve/ re-nuild one for you. Quote
Davros El Davros Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 Hey You can try one of these tandem 11/16 unboosted master cylinders - they are available on Ebay USA and they bolt straight up to the best of my knowledge. Click Another rollaclub member (can't remember who right now..) has put one of these on his early model rolla. You can always go the suggested re-sleeve, it would probably cost you around $80 for a re-sleeve and overhaul, new rubbers etc. However if you want a dual circuit one that will bolt straight up and is made for corollas, try the ebay item. I have some pics from an old thread on here if you want them. Good luck - let us know what you end up running with. I know there are a whole bunch of possibilities. Rollaclub member Jono had a pajero master cylinder in his KE20 4AGTE. Quote

I have managed to find a 2nd hand brake cylinder on here from a guy in QLD, so ill fit that an hopefully that will solve the issues with no brakes. I did manage to find a universal trailor brake master cylinder at Malls on the weekend bolted in perfect, but the thread was wrong for the brake line... so scrap'd that idea. If only i had my parts shed in NZ here with me id be fine :bash: Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 I got mine resleved and rebuilt TODAY (for a KE10) and it cost $140 top job blasted repainted color of choice, new rubber kit, new sleve, new piston, new resivor etc very nice job. So expect to pay more than $80 really Cameron Quote

Raven Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 You do realise that once they have been removed after being in use for a long time, they generally shit themselves because the piston has now moved outside its physical operating range, taking with it a heap of built up dirt that was nesting in the bore of the brake master cylinder on either side where the piston never moved? Right? Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 ^^^ Correct..Like flogging a old lady owned car never reved past 3000RPM then taking it straight to 8000 RPM...lol As I said above jsut get one recoed I can't highly speak enough of the quality of the job and yes I am yet to install it in the car but brakes stop me from hitting stuff I wanna know they work. I had all second hand gear to upgrade my KE15 but stopped though no I want new. I went and got rotors to wheel bearings to new brake lines. IT is worth it in the end. And if you get a second hand one id keep it on the shelf so you can get it resleved later and it can be a good spare. Cameron Quote
rollas22 Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Posted April 3, 2009 I fitted the 2nd hand cylinder the other evening... it was beter than my existing one. Holds preasure. But i can build up enough preasure threw the lines to the pedal. Suspect the brake shoes are stuff't! Car still stops when i need it too... just have to be weary of everyone on the road!!! Haha if i was to bring my parts + cars over here id have to hire a couple of containers!!! Quote
