Hiro Protagonist Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 actually these sockets I'm talking bout arent standard 12 points, they are a weird design that really does work, they have a sort of square-ish point instead of triangle and they grip the bolt like its welded on.. i agree with using an impact driver, just don't use cheap one Yeah, Metrinch is different to a 12-point, they're more like a 6-point just they grip the flats, not the points (they only have the same number of starting points as a 6-point too) Quote
towe001 Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Irwin Bolt Extractor for the win if the head is rounded off http://www.irwin.com/irwin/consumer/jhtml/...IrwinProd100512 Metrinch is good but not that good - not good for tight areas and i've had them slip off and also start rounding off heads Quote
DearmanKE Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 heaps of crc, the biggest bar plus spare exhuast u can find, and someone to push down on the bar so the socket doesnts lip off the bolt. if the bolt is rounded try useing the socket a size down and hit it on with a hammer then use said method Quote

towe001 Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 Oxy torch and a cold chisel. Or drag it to an engineer and they might see if they could weld a nut onto it Then again they might even just use an oxy torch and a cold chisel..... Quote
