mattman Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 hey guys new to the forum just wondering if this has been done before can you please help me ? :D Quote
furryfrog Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 the engine been from the same family as the ca18de i imagine it would be a similar process, but ive gotta ask why? a ca18de would be cheap and i imagine a better motor. Quote
beerhead Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 It's probably because he has the motor already. They're a twin spark motor and my mate's old gazelle had a fair bit of poke. Being a brother of the CA18DET which is used a fair bit in old corolla's, it'll bolt in with custom gearbox and crossmember mods/mounts. Then down the track if you feel the need a CA18DET would drop right in its place. Quote

Or do what Candellan did on Twincam and make a CA20DET, but if you follow his process it took upwards of 2 years to finish... Quote
