What colour is the smoke? That'll help us identify what is wrong with it.

Black = running rich

White = water 'burning' = cold or blown head gasket

Grey/blue = oil burning, piston rings, valve stem seals, other stuff I can't remember at the moment.

ITS NOT BLACK ITS NOT BLUE SO I WOULD SAY ITS THE MIDDLE ONE BUT I don't THINK IT HAS A BLOWN HEAD COZ WOULDN IT OVER HEAT????????????? ND ITS NOT COLD COZ IT DOES IT WHEN ITS HOT BUT ITS NOT BAD JUST A BIT FUMEY IN DA CAR..

ok turn caps off....

check under your oil cap, is it a weird color?

piston rings gone? how many kms? has it been rebuilt?

work done to engine?

is it burning through the oil and water/coolant?

are you revving the absolute f@$k out of it? remeberin it is around 25 years old and has probably never been revved out...

serviced regurlary?

you have to answer all these questions so we can judge what the cause is more specifically

cheers

Check oil, see if it's a normal colour. If it has a slight milk look to it, it could be head gasket. Watch coolant while motor is warming up, do you see foam forming? Possibly a blown head gasket.

A completly blown head gasket would normally stuff your motor up if you kept running with it, but a small ' lightly damaged' head gasket can still run without any serious issues. Just blows a bit of smoke here and there. Make your oil/coolant dirty.

blown head doesnt necessarily mean the car will overheat. i have had two cars that had head problems and only one of them was over heating. the other one i had no idea until i took the oil cap off and it looked like a milshake.

ok sorry bout the caps lock i wasn shouting as well mate!!

yeah it dosen blow smoke like when u look behind it u can see it everywhere as the exhaust is cut i rev it and look under the car and ya can just see a bit ov smoke comin out like i said it nothing crazy just thought i would ask if anyone knew. i just done an oil change and there was nothing milky under the cap so it can't be that the oil was fair old and i just bought some stop smoke stuff in there seems to be working. asked the blokes from work if they can see it when i take off they said no so its not that bad i think its just me streesing to much about a 25 yr old car.. and to the person that said do i rev it out yeah i do sometimes but nothing major but other then that lil worry i have had its runs fine nd the car has done 180xxx mate cheers people
