redracer Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 Hey, I've got a really bad leak in the boot of my seca witch fills up the wheel well with water wen it rains. I've checked the the seals around the door and also around the tail lights but had no luck. Any suggestions were its coming from? Cheers Quote
Roo Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 the sky? just weld the boot shut might help Quote
TC16 Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) maybe the glass rubber? run a hose around all the seals and the window rubber and see wheres its coming from then seal it or you could put a hole in the wheel well and let it drain. noone will ever know Edited March 17, 2009 by TC16 Quote
jordan_ke Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 get a mate and have a hose running water onto it while someone is inside.. Quote
redracer Posted March 17, 2009 Author Report Posted March 17, 2009 Yeah I've taken the rubber bung outta the wheel well for it to drain but the carpet in the back still gets wet and my speaker box soaks up the water as well. Ill try the hose on the seals anyway, cheers Quote
soyboy Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 try checking it at night with a light around the rubber seals? the boot in my ke30 was leaking too and i couldn't find it so i ran water near the seals and along the sides but in the end a torch is what did the trick for me. good luck Quote
TC16 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 don't use silicone to seal it, its useless and causes rust. Use mastik sealer Quote
redracer Posted March 22, 2009 Author Report Posted March 22, 2009 Found the leak, bloddy rust all the way along the bottom edge of the glass. Might see how much it is to fix it but might just buy a whole new back door. Anyone got a decent boot door?:y: Quote
