Well I'm doing the 4age to the mods I just mentioned, its just with the ecu I'm not to sure about what I have and with the price of jdm ecus I can build my own megasquirt for a tiny bit more and get the experiance of tuning it etc, if I'm lucky I may be able to chuck the quad ITBs on it, but probably not as it will run like arse without a cam and ITBs id say.

 

I will be doing engine, suspension, drifiting, paint, rego in roughly that order.

 

I know it will get banged up but meh, that can happen to the most experianced drifters, its a risk I'm willing to take for a while.

 

I was thinking with suspension, chuck in the struts i have already with king lows and newish shocks and massive commo brakes, get some shitters for the rear, chuck in the rose jointed lca's I have, and get an adjustable panhard rod, some quality adjustable sway bars, T series with open centre for about 1-2 weeks, then either lock it or lsd it etc.

 

Then build some xt130 front end fully adjustable, with tokicos all round and 8 up front 6.5 rear, then that should cover me for suspension just about.

 

And body work, getting new quad headlights, jdm chrome bumpers and fender mirrors and a madhouse lip.

Took the sump off the 4age today, CLEAN CLEAN SPARKLE CLEAN!!

 

Well it didnt exactly sparkle but it was really clean, no sludge what-so-ever :y:

 

Now I'm just wondrering what to use to put it back on, the sealant that is, ive heard a loctite of some sort is good?

 

Any comments?

blue loctite shit is good, its like a blue silcon i use it for all my gaskets and never had any problems

Also if anyone has a complete loom for any 16v 4age out/in the car or lying around, would they be able to take photos of all the plugs with the names of what they plug into? Because I really want to see if the map sensor loom I have is complete/what it is missing, map sensor version prefered :wink:

 

Also does anyone know the link to checking which ecu I have, it has a blue sticker on it, I hope its the map version.

Alright people who read my thread, just so you know I have not iven up on everything just yet :y:

 

Ive just been extremely busy with my 2 jobs and on top of those 2 jobs trying to start my own business, for all the jdm/modify'd car lovers.

 

So ive been working over 12 hours a day 7 days a week and been going out one night a week, not drinking, every couple of weeks.

 

And next week I'm off to fiji for like 10 days...

 

But anyway, the car.

 

As you alls hould know its up at the panel beaters, yes its still up there, yes its going to be up there for another couple of months probably, and yes the price went up..

 

$3500 for all rust removed, and painted.

 

As for colours, it comes down to Mandarin, Blood orange, or Toxic, in the ford falcon BF range.

 

Not too sure which one i want yet, if anyone could be kind enough to chop those 3 colours onto a jdm e7 that would be tops.

 

I have enough cash saved up from negative money to now 3700 so that leaves me with money for Fiji and to apint the car so just need to get bumpers quad headlights and madhouse lip then thats it set for exterior.

 

Then engine goes in as stock with HD clutch and Toda flywheel, and standard ECU.

 

Then get it running, then suspension then interior then done for a while.

 

Anyway ive been importing parts and desigining some new parts for it, can't wait to see results.

Which 16v do you need pics of?

 

I pulled my Bigport out today for a rebuild so can jump in the bay and take some pics tomorrow if you want, pretty sure it's MAP sensored.

 

Blood Orange first choice, Toxic second.

 

$3500 is a lot for paint but if you got it why not.

 

PS If you can be bothered dropping your pics to 800x600 or even 640x480 you'll have a lot faster uploads.

 

PPS If you're using a MAC then I HA right back atcha :y: if you're running Linux or another open source O/S then :wink:

Ahh its all good man I was having a pretty big bad week and lots of shit was pissing me off, you just got the icing on top :y:

 

I don't turn the pics around because I don't have time at all. and can't be bothered stuffing around for another half hour turning all the pictures around one by one.

 

Yea Mac is ghey its on my laptop that I upload from my normal computer is XP and my xbox is linux/windows 98 and If I can be bothered I could run Mac OS X on the xbox too but I CBF'd.

 

I like all 3 colours equally, I just can't decide which one would suit the most, and the 3500, well 2000 of that is for de rusting so thats why its so much.

 

I know people that can do it all for less than a grand but they would take longer for the same quality job.

 

don't worry about the pics for now, as id need like all connectors and plugs etc throughout the whole car and naming them, I'm just gonna buy and modify a complete ae82 loom, so if you have a complete one of those I would be stoked.

 

I like mandarin toxic and blood orange equally ;)

 

Uploads arnt too bad either, would take me longer to change them than the time id save in uploading :wink:

No worries dude I understand completely after today, 12 hour night shift last night after pulling the motor all afternoon, got dicked around by a retard at the spares place and had to go back at 8am this morning and half the part numbers he'd given me were wrong. Then spent the whole day helping my mate who does my tatts stencil a driveway and back at work now for another 12 hour :sob:

 

The day was brightened by seeing the mintyest overrated KE70 I have ever seen in the flesh. The lady is definately 80+ years old and the car looked like it had just rolled out of the showroom. White with the double black stripes. It's in my suburb so I am going to try and find it and buy it, probably gonna be hard as it looked like it was garaged.

Nice job you are doing mate. Its a hard choice between those colours, but I would

probably choose manderin or blood orange.

 

I think that is a pretty fair price for the paint, considering they are fixing rust as well all the prep-work.

I spose you will know for sure when it has been done.
