benzo Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Ive found the Watanabe's I want, there not for sale, but these are the specs I want: 14x8.5 -10. They look super hot, and would suit the car perfectly, i think I'm going to be quite the wheel collector ahahah :bash: Cheers. Travis. They are very cool, I had 14x8 -6 Wats For a set of 14x8.5 Watanabes you're gonna need at least $2000 if you can find a set 2nd hand otherwise allow $4500 + freight to Aus, + another $1000 for tyres. You won't be collecting these sort of wheels anytime soon lol Cheers, Ben. Quote
trav_555 Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 WHOAH!!! Really? Ill have to keep an eye out for a better deal! Are they that expensive because of the ae86 tofu version intial d spec stuff? They are hot wheels though ill save, ill get sometihng different to start with, but there ultimate!! Cheers Travis Quote
southslide Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 those watanbe's are gangster as fark but very pricey :bash: Quote
orangeLJ Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) you could buy aus made superlight (similar to mini lights) and I'm fairly sure they are a made to order wheel, offset and width variable. They arent the same as what you want, but they are similar. like these- Edited June 3, 2009 by orangeLJ Quote
benzo Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) +1 They arent made to order though set of 15x8 -4 Superlight will be $1000 plus freight and tyres good sized quality wheel made in australia, and pretty cheap. Look pretty tough on slant fronts Cheers, Ben. Edited June 3, 2009 by benzo Quote
trav_555 Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Posted June 3, 2009 Ive seen the ones Shakotan Garage has for sale, 750 a wheel to my doorstep, and heaps of diffrent sizes, i worked that out as the price roughly for brand new watanabe 14 x 8.5 -13. Dunno, when i want some expensive what's ill look alot more into pricing, also if you look back in the first lot of photos you will see some 15x6 superlights with semi slicks, i woulda kept them but not enough dish for me :P Cheers though. And today i just did a little more rust prep, and the cut up beige ke70 is ready tog o in the bin :bash: That will make my father very pleased. Cheers. Travis. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) SWWEEEEET! Thanks LittleRedSpirit And yea, well moneys money, dosent make a difference if i spend it now or spend it at the club on stuff, id prefer to do something productive with it that lasts (hopefully) longer thna one night  So it costing me money to be replaced a year or so is no worry at all, considering it will go in the black car anyway once turbo one is in this one. Cheers Travis Do what you want mate you don't have to justify yourself to anyone :P Build your car the way you want, and you will enjoy the fruits of your labour :bash: PS - Superlights can be had for around $800 per set if you shop around - plus tyres of course Edited June 3, 2009 by LukeAE71 Quote
trav_555 Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Posted June 3, 2009 Thanks Luke. $800 dollars isnt too bad at all. and do they look like real watanabes, because the 15's i had didnt, just looked similar, i definately want the ones on that blue ae86, like the specs, the look, everything. When wheel time comes i will be looking around for sure. Cheers. Travis. Quote
Roo Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 problem with superlights the offset is in the spokes not the dish, so they don't look like they have neg offset check out yahoo japan should be able to get some for a ok price second hand Quote
