Good afternoon all,

I though I would share my current (and only) project with you. So far and its only just the start of my project it has been interesting. At the moment this is where I currently stand:

Vehicle :1978 KE55 4 door sedan, round headlight model

Engin: 3S-GTE

Bellhousing: 2C bellhousing

Clutch fork: 2C

Clutch pivot point: 2C

Clutch thrust bearing carrer: W55 Supra

Clutch thrust bearing: W55 Supra

Clutch slave cylinder: 2C

Flywheel: Standard is usable depending on the generation 3S-GTE, mine is one of the lucky ones. However I opted to change to a lightweight chrome moly aftermarket option.

Clutch kit: Heavy duty standard 3S-GTE

Gearbox: W55 Supra 5 speed box

We needed to change one of the inlet/outlets (in not sure what it was) at the rear of the engine to a righ angle and we had to relocae the distributor. Still may need to go to an crank angle sensor (not 100% sure yet, will see).

I'm currently working with the engineer on making an exhaust manifold as the turbo fces the wrong way in the engine bay. We need to clear the starter motor.

We have a few options of the intake, the chop and re-weld and the fabrication of a 4 runner intake. We are opting for the more expensive 4 runner option, at the end of the day will yeild more power than the standard intake choppe and changed.

All components have been easy to find and all modifications (touch wood) until now have been easy.

There are further modifications needed for this conversion but I will update these as we get to them and as I purchase new components.

I will try to post before, during and after pictures as I go.

Furhter plans include diff, brakes, suspension, body work and interior. I have used plastic epoxy to modify the standard dash into a full cluster of guages. I will also try to post this (it's not yet 100% complete due to the lack of a CD player and painting).

Any input or thoughs would be appreciated.

Note: These modifications have and will be for my conversion and may not be for you if you choose to undertake this conversion.

I may have just posted this today but there is no reason to be a total ass.

This is the car upon purchase.

Over this long weekend here in sunny Tasmania Australia I will try to post current pics. I will do my best.

Stay tuned as there will be more.

Hobart,

Trust me, this is happening and if you are in Hobart and know the industry I'm in you know about this car.

Its been in planing for years and is starting to come together, finally.

I have just taken more pics but its 10:45 PM and my wife is asleep. I will work out how to make them small enough for this site then post them.

I've had the car for approx 3 years now. My wife said I could start work on it, she never stipulated a price.

Truth be told I'm scared of what she would say if she ever found out how much I intend to spend. It's a lot more than I ever told her I would.

If anyone knows an easy way to shrink photo to a size suitable for these post's I will post more pics.

I'll try to get to the engineers tomorrow for more pics. They are looking to do the bulk of the work over the Easter holidays.

Well thats the plan, these things never seem to go as planned.

I still have approx 18 months to finish this project according to the department of infrastructure. I had not purchased a single item at the time I requested the conversion for approval so the gave me the same conditions as an individually constructured vehicle.

1) Download Irfanview (it's small and free)

2) Run batch conversion on the photos you want to down-size, setting the res to whatever you want

3) Upload shrunk photos to Imageshack/Photobucket/whatever's-your-poison

4) .....

5) Profit?

I do not think I am gods gift to rollaclub. I work full time and study part time so I don't have a lot time on my hands.

As I said there will be lots of photo's and lots of info on the conversion as soon as I get a chance to get to the engineers and see where they are at with the work being carried out. They are doing this as a favour so they only do bits at a time.

I will do my best to kee pyou informed.

Sorry for sounding like a dick as this is not my intention.

I'm going to the engineers tomorrow, he has taken the engine and box out and wants to do things a little different to our initial plan. The standard turbo is not ideal for a RWD application but ass it is in perfect condition there is no need to buy another more suitable turbo. I will see what he has in store and over the weekend try to post more pics.
