oke020 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 you guys are all idiots, i would have left my company to go over here.imagine what kinda work this could lead too ? option a) work on shitboxes all day every day dropping oil, changing oil filter, occasional brake job, timing belt job, maybe throw in some rocker cover gaskets or option b) work on some pretty sweet cars doing what i suspect to be a shitload of interesting work, something in which you will actually enjoy, inspiration for your own car etc etc. Ah yeah ok sounds responsible, perhaps being able to provide a roof over my families heads might impact a decision to change careers :D i have been thinking about changing jobs to something interesting for a few years now but always comes back to being able to take the wage cut until the apprentiship is through. Trev Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Good chance for someone to work in a very reputable mazda workshop and I'm sure there will be added racing bonuses like going out to the track with Archie and so on, Big + for the work that comes out of there. Quote
Jono Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 guys interested should talk to centrelink or whatever the welfare dept. is in QLD, as i believe they pay the extra $$$ if you are mature age with overheads like rent, child support expenses etc. at least thats how it works in NSW i believe. that way the employer doesn't have to fork out extra $$$ and the mature age employee can still survive. godlovesugly Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 i would love this job would you guys accept me??? i have done 2 and a half yrs as a diesel mechanic and 6 months as a car mechanic both doing apprenticeships you're in brisbane, you have some sort of experience. if you really want the job make up a nice resume and put on a nice shirt and go introduce yourself and give them a copy of your resume. opportunities like this wont come up often and especially with the economy the way it is so i think you should take the initiative because I'm sure someone else will.
