philbey Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Maybe your flux capacitor is in need of an overhaul? Quote
Gentleman. Posted February 18, 2009 Author Report Posted February 18, 2009 Maybe your flux capacitor is in need of an overhaul? what the hell is that? and how would i know if it needs to be replaced? Quote
springersrolla Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 its sounds more than likely that its a problem with the flux capacitor Quote

altezzaclub Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Shouldn't be head gasket with those symptoms, head gasket problems happen every day at startup usually. Once you've got over the flux capacitor, check the electrics as it sounds like the lowering process knocked a wire loose somewhere, and probably to do with the coil or earth return. Poor power flow would give you a misfire and also kill the engine with the lights. What other problems have shown up?? Oil in the air filter comes from the tappet cover vent and is quite normal. Make sure you let us know what it was when you solve it! Edited February 18, 2009 by altezzaclub Quote
slapper Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 I need help my car is acting strange ever since i lowered iti took it for a run straight after and it went fine until i nearly got home th engine started cutting out i had my foot flat and it was only doing like 5kms but really jumpy like missing i only just replaced the fuel pump. also when i drive it some times when i go to come to a stop even with the clutch in it drops the revs and stalls. newest thing i noticed was yesterday when i turned the lights the idle dropped dramatically soo guys i need some help fix my problem pleasee!!!! :D ignore them .. they think they're in an 80's movie :P Flux capacitor my arse, next you'll be telling me the frange spigot is in need of a light oiling ... It's highly unlikely that the fact that your car is now lower has anything to do with this. Maybe you knocked/hit/crimped or broke something in the process though, so I'd be checking things around where you were working. When you say lowered: front? back? new springs? chopped springs? what sort of car? Standard approach when things like this happen: newest thing i noticed was yesterday when i turned the lights the idle dropped dramatically is to check everything electrical starting with things you are most likely to have been working around. check all your distributor leads. check all your battery connections. check all your alternator connections. check all your earth straps. check the fuel pump. check all the air hoses. my bet is on a slow and steady diagnosis for this one ... lowering a car shouldn't make the engine experience problems  cheers, Slapper Quote
