lpbaca Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Just recently my car has an electrical problem. the radio will intermittanly come on. It usually flickers when I press the break. i have to turn on the headlights or parking lights to keep the radio on. Also, my interior light intermittanly comes on. I am assuming a grounding problem or short. Can you help me? I have looked at the wiring for the radio and no loose connections or tears. Quote
Medicine_Man Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 is the frame return wire on the stereo going directly to frame, or have you actually connected it to the park light circuit? Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Definitely been wired up wrong, I had a similar problem when I bought the KE55, the headunit would sometimes cut-out when you hit the indicators, and it would turn on if you put the hazards on, even with the car turned off and the key removed. Stupid idiot who had wired it up had used the wrong wire for the power, had tapped into the indicator circuit instead of the ignition circuit (same coloured wire though, so it's kinda understandable) Quote

lpbaca Posted February 16, 2009 Author Report Posted February 16, 2009 is the frame return wire on the stereo going directly to frame, or have you actually connected it to the park light circuit? Is there a schematic available from someone so I can look at it? Quote
