oopsiy Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 hey guys ive made up my mind about lowering my ke25 and wanna know how other people have done it, coz i wanna make it reallyyy low, full dropped , coz i was going to buy 2inch lowering blocks but ive seen a ke10 thats been lowered 4inches and was even that low so 2inches would be shit, any ideas??? cheers Quote
BReNt Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 New front springs/shocks and flip some leaves in the back. Do a search there's heaps of info around about this. Quote
KEI069 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I wouldn't be expecting to remove 4 inches of ride height without the diff hitting the floor. Plus the rear leaf springs would be inverted and give a stiff as ride with no handling capabilities. Quote
styler Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 it better not end up like your signature! you would be riding with diff on body, no bumpstops... its possible but pointless  take a look under your car at the diff and see how far it is from the body and see how much distance you have, then add in some suspension travel and ground clearance and it will give you an idea of how much you have to play with. 100mm is the legal amount it has to clear from ground level. Falken_KE30 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 fill boot with cement, remove the front springs completely... enjoy Quote
styler Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 fill boot with cement, remove the front springs completely... enjoy too true... Quote
Redwarf Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Tis set-up is with 70mm taken out of the back, and 50mm out of the front. Rear springs are a custom pack with inverted eyes, front 225lb springs on adjustable platforms. This set-up would blow chunks in a daily. Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Redwarf-225lbs front springs, would this be ideal for a street car (like mine), i want a stiffer ride but don't want it ROCK solid. Its more a hills/track car but i still want to be able to cruise it would crunching my spine Quote
Redwarf Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I would have thought 225 too heavy for a streeter. I'd be looking 170 to 200 max. I used to have a really nice set at 175 that were good to drive around on. Quote
coln72 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Your showing your age Red, ride comfort............... Then again, I made the rear on my 20 softer by running a leaf pack with only two leaves. Quote
oopsiy Posted February 27, 2009 Author Report Posted February 27, 2009 how low will it drop if i flip the leaf springs? and how is it done? thanks Quote
philbey Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 it will drop as low as you want' depends how many leaves you flip. flip the whole pack, see where that gets you to start with...... Quote
oopsiy Posted February 27, 2009 Author Report Posted February 27, 2009 so do i just completely turn them upside down and jack the diff up really high and then bolt back on? Quote
philthy30 Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 so do i just completely turn them upside down and jack the diff up really high and then bolt back on? yea thatl work you might have to chop a bit off the bumpstops and don't expect it to handle any good  Quote
Rolliac Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 flip the whole pack, see where that gets you to start with...... Wouldn’t that be really soft? The equivalent to running one spring with lowering blocks? Could do it just to see how low it is though. I would imagine if you where going to do it properly you might need shorter struts with matching inserts. I don’t know about the back. Invert eyes, reset leaves and lowering blocks if you must I suppose? You would probably want stiffer springs as you won’t have much travel. Probably cut the bump stops in half. Quote
