13BT_KE20 Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 id vote 13bt hell a 13b would be quick... for the simple reason of size. 13b would be mounted back a lot further and lower helping the weight distribution. finally somebody with a little bit of sense........ atleast the car will still handle reasonably well, a rotor is like any other engine. If well maintained you shouldnt have any problems with it, especially is relatively stock form Quote

13BT_KE20 Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Saved for future reference, wait till you start wanting more power, get the vaso ready :bash: yeah i know, ive got another rotary which is at the other end of the scale (ported, big turbo, etc etc) but to me it sounds like a stock 13B with an exhuast and a weber will keep this guy happy for a fair while, when it doesnt a stock turbo will. Both reliable set-ups when looked after and tuned correctly Quote
oke020 Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Yes in stock form they seem good, mate of mine has a stock 13bt in his 11 sec manx buggy, he has had the engine in there for 8 years now even then it was an un rebuilt import engine, last i heard it still even had the same plugs in it :bash: Quote
SLW42 Posted February 18, 2009 Author Report Posted February 18, 2009 yeah but i am the kind of person that is a jump into the deep end and worry about it later plus i am not 2 worried about costs Quote
JUD Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Fk Rotors! By the time you buy/build a decent built motor your down 4g! then on top of that there's ecu+wire up & tune=2g turbo manifold, clutch, injectors yada yada! and even then something very minor could happen and your up for another god damn rebuild! buy a stocka 1j auto front cut for $2500/3g and drop it all in. SLW42 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 yeah by the time i have achieved the power i want out of the rotary it will already have costed about the same to achieve more out of the 1J!!! :P and you will be able to thrash the 1J alot more/longer than the 13b before it gives up Quote
casale_92 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 that I am sir that I am thanks for the advice man brakes will be done at the same time motor goes in, i do know that there both high powered motors and instead of spending the cash on a 4AGE conversion, yeah it would be good and it would make the car alot more hassle free i would also get sick of it quickly aswell and then want to go bigger again which i couldnt afford to do so many different stages of conversions on it anyway, IF i went 2J it DEFFINATELY WOULDN'T BE 2JZGTTE it would only be 2JZGE n/a and i think i'm going to get enough attention from the police in a bright yellow TA22 anyway( i do get too much attention form them as it stands) specially if it had a 2J in it and i had no engineering cert for it!!! yeah but i am the type of person who will jump straight into the deep end and worry about the consiquences after hey man just some food for thought, why don't you change the 2jzgtte to a 2jzgte all you have to do is buy a log extractor and your set. although the 1jz will be plenty sufficent theres no feeling like a 3 litre straight 6 under the hood (if it fits under the hood) well yeah and also don't skimp out on the brakes. my mates 2jz is so powerful after a few stops on the freeway they warped and that was using lexus is300 discs. he now has slotted and it pulls up nicely. just my 2 cents Quote
SLW42 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) the brakes are going to be the biggest brakes i can get for a hilux front end man!!! the 2J is also a little bit heavier aswell i know the feeling of having a 3lt twin turbo throw you back into the seat it's alwayz the best feeling but remember i have to drive this thing on the street occasionally when i take it off the street or sell it somebody else can put the 2J into it and do the single turbo conversion!!!
