yeah i have tried the 3tgeu but bent valves in the 2tg head(why it's not running now) so i kicked that idea straight out the door

What about a 3tgte?

Would bolt straight in and have more pop than a gze but more managable than 1j or 2j

A happy medium so to speak :hmm:

3TGTE would be reasonable, but parts are getting rare/expensive, plus they're an old EFI engine when compared to a 4A, which works against it. Something like a CA18DET would be a good turbo medium, except that it's not a Toyota

i had a CA18DET motor to go into the celica but didnt have the funds!!!

plus i have wanted to do a 1J conversion for a very long time i know it sounds extreme but everybody knows there cars and i trust my driving and i only drive like a dick when there is nobody onfront of me for awhile and when there is no posoble way to crash

wow... did you even read what you just posted? Ask yourself a question should I (you) put a powerful engine in a car. I'm more concerned about other motorists really

Agreed, If thats the attitude then i'm glad i don't live in QLD

So lets lay this out...

You want to put a 1j which can pull over 200 no sweat, into a old rusted car (all old cars have rust carnt get away from it)

You want to then push the 1j on the roads where there are any number of unknown variables

Then there is your skill level, at 19 it's limited maybe the story would be different if you were a know hi-po race driver but I'm fairly certain you are not, especially with an attitude of "nooo wayyy broooo I'm 2 skilllleezzed to crah"

jason man listen or read I HAVE NOT SAID I AM BULLETPROOF OR THAT I AM THE MADDEST DRIVER OUT THERE i know there is always room for improvement and yes i understand that, thats y they invented race tracks for that,

yes my car has rust, yes i may sound like a dickhead and a typical young fk with but i know i am no micheal schumacker or anything but i am fairly confident on my driving it may change when the 1J is in there but time will tell!!!!!

and yes everybody cains or has cained there car down the highway atleast once in there entire life time!!!!

I'm just putting this out there but this 1j idea wont happen.

1) its not legal

2) its expensive

3) millions of other reasons

Find someone with a 1jz in their car and ask them how much have they spent on it (including car purchase) Anything with a 1j in it will cost minimum 8K. Either factory installed or converted.

id vote 13bt hell a 13b would be quick...

for the simple reason of size. 13b would be mounted back a lot further and lower helping the weight distribution. I'm helping out a mate with a 1jz conversion into a gz10 soarer... i can say its a big motor, plus its in a engine bay which is considerably bigger than a ta22.
