dbr11k Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 has it been done? is it worth it? i can get hold of a running corolla seca with a 1.6 in it for under $200 Quote
Medicine_Man Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 unless you want a cheap conversion, i wouldn't waste my time.. Quote
dbr11k Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 i am after a very cheap conversion. my 4ac is f@$ked.. what is the specs on a 4ac compared to 4afe Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 no idea, google it.. If you are going to go through the heartache of doing something with a dizzy that sticks out in the wrong spot, you may as well be doing a 20valve conversion in my opinion. The whole point of a cheap conversion is to run a factory ecu, but with the 4afe you will need to extensively change the ignition system, creating a need for an aftermarket ecu. I say do it if you have the seca and a good aftermarket ecu laying around. Otherwise, if it were a good idea, wed have done it by now. You can always do the poor mans 4agte and use the fe bottom end, ge head, slap on a turbo and boost it hard. Quote
dbr11k Posted February 11, 2009 Author Report Posted February 11, 2009 ah well worth the wonder... I'm just sick of the 4ac gutless power ahha Quote
bLinded_ Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 4AFE is pointless as others have said. Much easier to just go 4AGE for half the effort and twice the gains. You have an AE71 already, so 90% of the conversion is already done for you. Just find a GE, set up the efi fuel system and get it wired up. Quote
