I know of someone up here doing this right now. He's even bought the panel can for the doors and having the "B" pillar moved and engineered.

if you want to make one, ke70 panel van doors are about 170mm longer, just cut out centre pillar, move back amount required, reweld. seen this done to commodores, falcons. alot of work and engineering required, you have to reinforce doors, back section. would probably end up a 20,000 dollar car before you even start modyfing it. would be alot easier to import a 2 door version, from probably NZ or thailand where they were available, for easily under 10g's.

i know a guy that did this and it didnt cost anywere near 20 grand cause no one in there right mind spends that much on a ke70. he just got longer doors and plastic windows. he is just selling it now but don't know if its sold. if you go on 86dc and pm him. think his name is KRUMPET I'm pretty sure.

"Its been done in SA and i think it was recently sold too, speak to KKUSTOM and his dad have been dealing with corollas for over 30 years."

so to speak you can't just weld the doors shut and bog it up it will look dicky, you would have to move the b pillar back and lengthen the front doors to make it look more like a coupe

weld the doors shut bog it, cut out the b pillar, strengthen the a and c pillars strengthen the roof and delete the b pillar aill look so much better, make it look like a coupe that would be wicked

I was thinking of turning a 2 door into a 4 door. Has anybody done this?

^^^ Sarcasm.

Why would you spend a megaload of dollars on something that you're not 100% sure on how to do properly

and to make it how you want it. Just import a TE70. Much cheaper, T motor/driveline, which is bigger and better.

Unless you only plan to use it for shitz'n'giggles and not get it registered it is definetely NOT worth doing this

project!

Lots of time and effort.... But if you want to do it....

To get the look you want you'll most likely want to pull C pillar forward and change the rake angle to look like a coupe. Otherwise you'll just look like a poxy sedan with the doors welded shut. It's a fairly common thing to do with 50s lead sleds etc. Go get a copy of Mad Fabricators 3 and watch the segment "Chopping Jakes Shoebox" they do exactly that.

You wont need to strengthen the roof or C pillars so much, you'd be better off strengthening the car through the sills like they do making topless KE10s. Easier way to go.

you just get the doors, pilars, and rear windows from a 2dr wagon then chop, mix and weld. i can't see why it would be that hard for anyone with engineering skills, only hard bit would be getting it legal in aus... it'd be easy as over here in nz, in fact it is my plan when i stack my wagon
