Brake And Indicator Problems

hi guys i'm hoping someone on here can help me, the past few days of extreme heat here in melbourne was not kind to my little corolla, as a consequence my brake lights and rear indicators have gone nuts.

 

symptoms:

when all the lights and brakes are off, the indicators work fine.

when the brakes are on, the brakes pulse slowly and the opposite indicator pulses.

with the lights on and the brakes off the tail lights flash at a normal speed and so does the opposite indicator.

with the brakes and lights on the entire rear end (both brakes and indicators) light up, no pulsing or flashing.

 

i'm confused as to where it might be because the front indicators and the dash works fine so its not the stalk. it may be the flasher but i don't see how this would effect the brake lights.

 

has anyone had/seen this problem before? it is very perplexing to the other drivers following, i nearly had a falcon run up the back of me!

sounds like bad earthing perhaps, have you checked it?

haven done any checks yet as i only found out when i went to get petrol at 10pm tonight.

took it to an autoelec today. Medicine_Man was correct, bad earthing.

 

got it sorted. now lets just hope it doesn't happen again.

hey i have this exact problem, how did they solve it, ive checkd my earths/grounding, all seem ok. you wudnt be able to throw up a quick pic or a good explaniation as to what they did to fix the problem?, cheers
