honestly the only way to find out how loud it is, is to try it yourself. probably not the best thing welding it on to a half inch smaller diameter pipe... unless you get an adapter that goes rom 1.5" to 2".

Or if you have the spare $$$ put a new 2" system on it with some headers/extractors. Definetely made my 4k breath better.

the mufflers all been modifyed, the benefits of knowing 2 different exhaust fitters. problem is paying the money to get a sound like a wet fart in a can its a 1200cc corolla, i don't wanna be heard 3k's away going up a hill or stretching out a gear, its quiet now but it's leaking to much out the muffler just wondering if u run a resonator cause they change the sound a bit, i might get a reverse muffler see how it sounds. How does the 4k sound with your setup? does it drone on the highway or sound real buzzy? i just want a tight note thats why I'm thinking of leaving standard 1.5"

I have standard ke11 3k and exhaust. I cut the exhaust off just after the diff so no muffler and it was perfect IMO. Cruse along at 5000rpm and back it of to hear a nice growl. It was border line too loud like driving past cops or starting it up at 5am but was never pulled up for it.

I had to get a road worthy so I put a 2” straight through offset muffler on and it was too quiet. I replaced the little resonator with a straight pipe and it is pretty good but I liked it heaps better without a muffler.

My 4k is a rally car so its kinda loud... abit too loud for road use for my liking but sounds pretty tuff.

I've got Pace maker 4-1 extractors to a high flow "AEM" muffler then to a decent size hot dog. All the piping is 2" and exits under the passenger door.

that is a nice dumper.

My old 4AC AE86 needed a muffler for roadworthy, I asked the guy to get something with a little bit more of a not to it and it was a nice clean, low understated engine note that wasn't the least bit intrusive.

Stock system apart from that.

For a roadie run a resonator and a muffler - 2" is a good size.

On my KE35 ran with a resonator and a 2" in twin 1.5" outlets (think XU1 Torana). Looked and sounded good after I bashed out some of the baffles :2thumbs:

On my KE20 club car tried heaps of different exhausts. The best one was a straight through 2" system that went under the diff into a small muffler and a 3" droopy out the back. Lots of comments re. "has it got a rotaty in it. The biggest bend was where it bent around the firewall.

Latter on I went to a more conventional over the diff system to gain ground clearance. Wasnt as good though
