Ella Posted February 4, 2009 Author Report Posted February 4, 2009 got covered in oil pretty fast so the idea of handling my camera (a 1000 dollar nokia N95 8 gig) didnt really appeal to me... but imagine similar photos to last time i took the head off, only minus the bloody lifters, tho that bit was like childs play with the lifter removal tool... Ella Posted February 6, 2009 Author Report Posted February 6, 2009 righto then, started stripping the manifolds and other pus off the 4k in the other car cause it looks like I'm going to have to swap it in to get mobile... the 5ks going to take too long to get bits for and I'm going to go all out on it now hey. see my thread in the general mechanical section for that bit) here's the donor motor with the carby off! and here it is with the manifolds off, just gotta get the eleecy bits off tomorrow and bellhousing and torque converter woo Quote
Ella Posted February 6, 2009 Author Report Posted February 6, 2009 so far this build has been sponsored by two of my little friends, both are amber colored fluids, both help immensely with working on old corollas... hehehe. Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 bahaha, nice work. I too have friends like that. Just that if i over use one of them, not much gets done :P Quote
philbey Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 (edited) I don't have any friends like that, but the old man has plenty hahahaha! (I'm gainfully employed and he's a uni student, but I still skive his beers off him) Did you really get lifters for 3.80 each? I'm guessing Solids? Edited February 7, 2009 by philbey Quote

Ella Posted February 8, 2009 Author Report Posted February 8, 2009 OMFG it flies yo! and then down to its final resting place till it gets shipped off to frawleys  will start pulling the 4k later on i think, depends how our other little project goes (installing a fail assed reversing camera into my grandads AU falcoon) if i don't have enough time for that ill get some done on the interior swap... looking at painting it asap too hey, looking into my options ATM but satin black is looking like a winner for me. Johno Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 I saw on pimp my ride 2 nights ago, a camaro with flames on it. Black car with black flames, Just a slight silver metalic outline of the flames, Looked horn! If you get flames I would suggest something like that. I tried to find a picture but this was the best i could do. Quote
Ella Posted February 8, 2009 Author Report Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) Lol@ the model car... Nah man i doubt ill put flames on it again when i paint it hey, the reason i want em off is the local coppers here apparently like modded cars a little too much, so much so they spend a lot of their time pulling them over for inspections haha i just want it all clean and one colour hey... my inspiration for the satin black paintjob is the rauh welt s15 (and the porsche too if anyones seen that) before they painted it silver... mensch Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 I was wondering how there was a girl on here with such an in-depth knowledge of cars. It's uncommon for women...I'd really like to learn more about cars, to be able to do all of this by myself. You're right about the flames, especially if you live in Redcliffe. You really don't want to attract attention, as the police tend to pull over anybody who looks like their car could be fun from Redcliffe down to around Burpengary. You're thinking of painting it black? Really? Why not red  I would LOVE to paint my Corolla like the car in Starsky and Hutch: tomato red with white stripes. But can't afford the $5K I've been quoted for the job. Quote
Ella Posted February 9, 2009 Author Report Posted February 9, 2009 Hehe umm PM sent... as for colour choice... nah i LOVE the satin black right now the below car is my inspiration for satin black paint BTW tell me you don't love it as much as i do? Quote
