Roo Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 better off to just go a sr20, much light motor/smaller motor rbs are too heavy and would be a such a effort to fit it in the engine bay Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 surely this in wrong section?? Quote
madmax7 Posted January 28, 2009 Author Report Posted January 28, 2009 surely this in wrong section?? oh whoops yeah it is Quote

D1doony Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 (edited) sr20 are a silvia motor s13/s14/s15 and are quite capable of high hp numbers quite easy to modifiy with "bolt ons" to achieve somewhere between 250 and 300 hp which is a stupidly high amount of horsepower for a "drift" corolla also when you say skyline motor which one? theres close to half dozen rb30 rb20 rb25 rb26 VQ30 and even more from the old school ones. altezzaclub Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 Yeah, forget iron sixes, they weigh a ton and would ruin the turn-in. All those Sylvias out there are what you want, turboed 2litre 4cyls... Unless you want to do a Mos and use the all-alloy Lexus V8! :D Quote

madmax7 Posted January 28, 2009 Author Report Posted January 28, 2009 (edited) so will a sr20 silvia motor fit in a ke70 or are they too bulky Edited January 28, 2009 by madmax7 Quote
Rola Drifter Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=19781 nissan 180sx's also have an sr20det in them but there's no difference between silvia sr's and 180sx sr's. Just have a search through people ride's and projects and see what information you can come up with. Tom Quote

styler Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 rb30 is a long motor - inline 6, and its front end heavy for a corolla. so it would be great for an unregistered drag car with a big laggy turbo or a dyno queen but not allowed on the street and would plough into the first corner on a race track. so it really depends on what you want the car for? yeah turbo inline 4's are a better bet, like the ca18det or sr20det as has been said.
