madmax7 Posted January 27, 2009 Author Report Posted January 27, 2009 It's non repairable, end of story. Time for a new crown wheel and pinion. do they sell them brand new anymore Quote
Redwarf Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 I don't think so. But if they were available you'd probably be looking at $6-700 for crownwheel and pinion before build up. Quote
KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 do they sell them brand new anymore Max the crown wheel and pinion need to be a matched pair, then set up with precision and backlash clearances must be set using a dial indicator. Quote

TE278U Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 i used meteal mend on mine :jamie: and it didn't work at all... FAIL Quote
Budowski Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 what model is the diff ? anything a diff shop will do is probably going to cost you 200-300 minium in labour/diagnosing. also give boss engineering a call in lonsdale or precision differentials on port road, port adelaide. If its just a ke30 diff run down to the wreckers and rip the cover plate off the diff of your flavour and spin it a few times to check the condition of the teeth and then buy it might be about 60-80 dollars. I'm in the hunt for a 3.9 ish ratio diff will probably get the old diff guy at work to rebuild it for me Quote
smeetsy1 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) I had mine fully rebuilt, Crown wheel and pinion and all bearings. It cost $700 Edited January 29, 2009 by smeetsy1 Quote
