KE70+AE92 Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 hey my ke is alsome at the moment except for a little problem which bugs me. its running rough it wont idle at a one speed it keeps goin up and down. also when your driving and you put your foot down the car sort of stutters then takes off like it isnt getting enough air or fuel. my uncle says ive got a air leak or crap in the carby, i cleaned the carby blew it out and put a new gasket between the carby and manifold but it still doing it but not as bad. i think i might have a leak where the motor and the manifold join. this problem doesnt stop me from driving it as i just recently welded the diff up its mad goin sideways at 60k around the corner while its screaming a 5k Quote
Jason KE30 Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 well if you find that it got a little better when you cleaned the carby out then that's probably where the problem still lies. maybe just try wackin on a new carby and see where that takes ya? Quote
KE70+AE92 Posted January 28, 2009 Author Report Posted January 28, 2009 its not worth it i don't want to have to buy another it would probably cost more than the car. anyway i can live with that problem like i said it just bugs me Quote
altezzaclub Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 Spray some WD40 or CRC along the manifold gasket top and unfortunately underneath as well. It will momentarily block the leak and the engine will suddenly run smooth. Do it when its cold so you can get under the exhaust manifold. I suppose you could try undoing all the manifold bolts a turn and re-tightening them to pull it up straight first. Good luck, mine chuffs out the exhaust port somewhere... Quote
Mybowlcut Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 Yeah, most likely a leak at the intake/exhaust manifold gasket. The same thing is happening to me at the moment.. just buy a new manifold gasket they are like $10. Quote
KE70+AE92 Posted January 29, 2009 Author Report Posted January 29, 2009 ill get a new gasket from work and try that thanks Quote
KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 ill get a new gasket from work and try that thanks You could try tightening the manifold bolts when hot first. Quote
