Tume Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) Last year 2 days before my birthday I had to swerve a tourist and smashed up my beloved Sigma, so I needed to hunt for a new car and Murd pointed me towards KJ. Bought this car from him a couple months later: 4K motor. 3K Carby Already changed to 4K 5 Speed Trans. 2 1/2 " Hotdog Exhaust El Stocko. So far my plans running wise are to either: Put in a reconned 4K with Twin Webers and Lukey Exhaust system. Or. Simply save up the money for all suspension, brakes, transmission etc for a 20v 4AGE. Seeing as thanks to greenmac (Luc) and some others on the board, it is becoming a lot easier to fit without having to become a great welder/fabricator. Either way the hotdog exhaust has to go! Body/Interior wise my plans are: To get it painted in a dark blood red, with black where the windows are inside the chrome strip. Front splitter, sideskirts and rear wing body kit. Nothing major have already found some pictures of the types I want, just need some money and to find someone able to make. They would be painted solid black with red airbrushing through them. Replace carpet with black and get trims done same except in vinyl. Get entire dash and consoles airbrushed once again in the solid black with red throughout. Sunroof eventually although may change if doesn't suit what I'm trying to make. Chrome sidemirrors. (Maybe from supercheap, nothing fancy). Tinted windows. Quad lights with home made Grill, made from mesh sprayed solid black with red stencilled Toyota symbol same as what is stock on the steering wheel. Power Windows for the front where the switches are in the middle like on the excels. Keep banging knee into the winder while driving and it annoys the hell out of me. Here are the pictures, thanks for looking. Edited April 18, 2009 by Tume Quote
trav_555 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 nice ive been waiting for you to amke a rides thread 4age sounds easyiest though don't get me wrong alot of work man did it come standard with white dials? Travis Quote
Tume Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 No, KJ did them himself. He also put red LED's behind for when the parkers come on. He might kill me for saying this but I'm contemplating finding stock gauges, and making the red LED's into normal white ones or seeing how they go through the black and white dials. Quote
trav_555 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 no white ones are sic as man! keep em! Quote
JiP Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I had wondered what happened to KJ's old ride. Looks sweet. :P Quote
Tume Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 Cheers, it looks sweet when I can park it up at the shed but that is NEVER, so its always got atleast one bird playing target practise. Might give it a wash and a polish tomorrow. When I got the car from KJ the drivers seat was held together by vice grips, so a little while ago went to upi and got a new seat for $22 because the guy said it was in 'piss poor condition', it had 2 little tears and just needed a wash. Got home and changed seats over and saw what was under the covers of my old seat. Pictures below. Get pictures of new seat tomorrow, never did do that. Quote
JiP Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 What's that buckle on that seat?? Is it an early KE30 buckle?? What's the condition?? Quote
Tume Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 Yes its an early KE30 model buckle. Took it off because I have the KE55 one thats bolted to the actual floor. Its in ok condition, tops a bit faded and a couple little cracks in the bottom corners. Why? Doesn't your vast collection of cars have enough :P ? Quote
KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Yes its an early KE30 model buckle. Took it off because I have the KE55 one thats bolted to the actual floor. Its in OK condition, tops a bit faded and a couple little cracks in the bottom corners. Why? Doesn't your vast collection of cars have enough :D ? Jip probably saw the buckle loaded in the trailer and got excited. :P I put Ke 55 seat-belts in my ke30 as-well I found then more user friendlily. good luck with the project :( Quote
Tume Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 Cheers. Went out and took some pictures (forgot the seat and buckle whoops). Mainly of the rust and where my antenna is positioned. Every single other 30 or 55 I have seen has the antenna on the pillar, but mine is on the front guard, any suggestions as to why? Quote
Tume Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 RUST :P :( Backs are both rusted in the boot Quote
Tume Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 Roof whre parts are lacking ANY paint. Found out who my neighbours use to paint their vehicles as they are always in the best condition for years afterwards. Its a guy in Wingfield so I need to contact him to find out what has to be done for what prices. Quote
trav_555 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 mmm rust my new one is full of it ahaha Quote
JiP Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 The Early KE30's had the antenna in the guard, just like the KE2x's. Tho I'm pretty sure the KE2x ones didn't retract. Oh and what would you like for the buckle?? Quote
Tume Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 If someone in SA thats close by and sending you gear I can simply chuck it to them for you to sort out with. Otherwise I'll check the post office and just see how much it would cost for a small package. Not like I need or want to make anything out of it. So the early 30's had an antenna in the guard..yet this is a KE55. Strange. I don't reckon this car is full of rust, its just where its located that is a problem as the boot is always full of dust. Meaning I can't store anything really that needs protecting. Quote
