Ke70 Fuel Gauge Issues

storey goes:::the fuel gauge does read correctly when you first fill the tank and then it just drops down again.

i can't work out why, its not like i turn a corner and the fuel moves off the sensor. . it just doesn't register.

have other people had this problem?

and what should i do about it?

I'm not sure what order to check things in. . . .

any help would be muchos appreciated.

Real common issue this one.

 

I can confidently say that it's the fuel sender's fault. The contact patch has most probably rusted and is no longer giving a signal. Mine was a little different, once the fuel got above half full, the contact 'thing' lost contact with the 'thing' it's supposed to be contacted with. ahaha. I've got no idea what it's called, I'll try to find a thread which explains it a little better.

iv read a lot of other people issues with fuel tank pick up sensors, i guess i'll just try and few things when i next have time to waste and see what does/doesn't work.
