ltzgmp-ke70 Posted January 17, 2009 Author Report Posted January 17, 2009 This link below outlines the transer of rights for vehicle registration, this should help you.http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Regist...ferOfRights.htm About time theres another ke70 thats close to the Greensborough/Watsonia area. Where abouts in Camberwell are you located. When you get your car registered and cleaned up you should come with a few of the Ke70's for a cruise. I have yet to see another ksev in Greensborough/Watsonia area but I'll be looking out now that i know you're out there. I'm off Riversdale Rd. I may or may not be lacking my own drivers license. . . . minor inconvenience. That wouldn't stop me however. :y: Quote

ltzgmp-ke70 Posted January 17, 2009 Author Report Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) Updates::: Gave the ksev its first wash today, all be it a quick one in the driveway. Came up reasonably good. . . however now I realise how shit the paint actually is :) Bonnet fade is hell bad which makes me quite the sad. On the front left quarter, at the bottom underside it looks as though its been driven through wet sand and then left to dry, i thought it was just dirt at first and that i could wash it off- and no matter how hard i tried i couldn't get it off =( Unfortunately it has sprayed onto the bottom of the door and the sil. No ideas as how to get it off. For some reason, when i bought the car it only had half a mud guard on the right rear wheel, so that was removed today. Spent the afternoon polishing my chrome bruuu. Came up quite a treat, but now highlights my shit paint. Free re-spray anyone? Photos:::: If only it was this shiney all the time :y: Bonnet fade, the left is much more pink in real life, right is more red. 3 panel sand damage or something, turns out could be fresh tar with gravel. . . ;) tear. Chrome Shiney and Clean. . .sorta. . . Edited January 17, 2009 by ltzgmp-ke70 Quote

ltzgmp-ke70 Posted January 17, 2009 Author Report Posted January 17, 2009 cleaned up the black bits today while it was parked in the street in the arvo sun. . .bumpers and uber cool racing stripes :y: probably do have too much time on my hands, but hey, its the weekend. right? Quote
Jason KE30 Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 I'm not the one with 'el pimpo' as my status. . . i joke. 16head tape deck pick up ftw :y: hey don't pay out my el pimponess lol and damn!! your car is pretty darn neat. shame about th faded paint. if its mostly just the bonnet just give that a respray of some sort so then you don't have to go through the hassle of painting the whole car. as for the weird sand stuff, it looks like it could be some sort of tar/tree sap even? i don't know i havn't seen anything like that on a car before Quote
Jason KE30 Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 just got a second opinion i reckon its fresh tar that it picked up off the road and that sand is actually gravel or something try prepsol to get it off just make sure that ones its off give it a good wash as to not wreck your awesome paint job :y: Quote

I dunno either. . but. . its hell annoying to look at. if i re-spray the bonnet the rest of the car will look shit too. the roof is rather faded and patchy. ahhh well. can't complain. took it for a l'plated drive today. i love that 5pseed hehehe. Matt fixed them up for me real good. YAY. so now theyre schweettt as bro. didn't need replacing just tightening. woop woop. Quote
adam-__- Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) Bloody clean indeed. I noticed you're after some suspension ideas for your ke. I'm not too sure how much you're wanting to spend, but seeing that you want to drift this thing, I would recommend converting AE86 struts up front. Not only will you have a larger range of shocks available to you, you'll also get larger brakes (slightly if you get the Aussie model ones, but vented if you get the 'JDM' ones). So up front you have 86 gear, you want it lower than stock so you'll need new springs, the common rates are 8kg/mm or 6kg/mm. Shocks, you'll need some sort of 'short strokes'. I've seen people put AE92, SW20 and Celica shock inserts into the 86 strut. The choice of shocks will depend on what springs you'll be getting. Rears are easy because 86 rears and KE70 rears are the same. Whatever shocks that get used in 86s can be used in the KE. Common spring rates for the rears are 4kg or 6kg. You'll need some sort of short stroke shocks out back too. Some people use Suzuki Sierra shocks (I'm running these and I personally find it a little too short), Commodore shocks and other TRD shocks. It's important to get new shocks with your lowered springs, without them, your springs can 'fall out'. I think I should stop now.. There's plenty of information out there. Do your research and go from there. Also don't just buy something because others are doing it, learn from my mistake. hahaha. I'm redoing my suspension bits because I bought bits others (with no idea) were recommending it. You live and learn. haha All the best with it. ltzgmp-ke70 Posted January 17, 2009 Author Report Posted January 17, 2009 I'm glad you like it :y: iv been reading lots about springs and conversion options, there's just so many ideas out there that its hard to pinpoint ONE and stick with it. i guess i should just make up my mind already. Thanks a lot for your advice, at least you know what you're talking about, unlike me :) but I'm learning. . slowly. . I'll take all your advice in and somehow come out with a decision to make it not sit at such a horrible ride height. Ugh. I'll update as soon as i know what i'm doing. teehehe. Quote
