sali Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 hello i am in need of a gasket set for a k50 gearbox to go into my ke20rolla does anyone know where to find this product or what could be used in place of???thankyou I think you only require the front and rear oil seal and you can use a high preassure gasket silicon for the rest of the areas. Trev Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 No gaskets, I recommend and use toyota red sealant. Quote
SLO-030 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) I'll be puting a thin smear of this Toyota Red Sealant on either side of the gaskets just to make sure there are no leaks if the surfaces aren't exactly flat. EDIT: Thats on my 4k, i assume you can do the same on a gearbox. Edited January 11, 2009 by SLO-030 Quote

I would use 515 loctite in-place of a gasket, you will need to be careful and check the gasket thickness does not cause any clearance or preload issues. loctite 515 is also good enough to fix porous housings with gearbox's. SLO-030 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 it that a reddy brown colour? was using that at work a couple of days ago, seems to do a sweet job. Quote
